-I can't speak for others, but this game is %100 unique to my 40 years playing games. using inventory rules to Attack, Defend, with a simple concept that expands into dynamic strategies.

-60 hours of actual game play and I still have yet to complete it all. There is a lot packed into this little game.

Replay Value: 4/5
-With all the different heroes, item sets, and content unlocked, there is just repeated dungeon crawls with community created content after that. Fun brain teaser after completion.

-A few bugs still exist. One i found to be possibly run-breaking if saved after triggered.

-Seems like modding adds new heroes with both a combination of item sets, artifacts and backpack rules and is fully supported by the Steam Workshop.

Last Thoughts: Minor flaws that could be fixed with some dev love would truly shine this hidden gem up. Almost certain to be a great travel or no internet connection addition to anyone's library who enjoys paradigm thinking tactical style games.

This is one of those games that's a great argument for a middle review type.

The backpack gimmick is really interesting, and at time of launch I'm pretty sure it was unique (obviously copycats have come out since release). However, the game also feels kind of incomplete. The story mode locks away fun items behind grinding out runs, so you end up doing a whole bunch of runs with the same exact build (or very slight iterations on that build) because a lot of builds don't actually work well enough to win. Same goes for unlocked heroes - they each have something specific that works for them, with other options not being good enough to get through the dungeon.

It's like the whole game needs a huge balance pass and multiple bug fixes, but the devs seem to have abandoned patching and left it up to modders. Like for as long as I've owned it I've had to reset my settings every time I launch the game because they don't save.

It's not a bad game, and normally for an "unbalanced and abandoned but interesting" game I'd still give it a thumbs up and say buy it on sale, but the dev team has also abandoned a bunch of promises from their kickstarter meaning people have paid for things that they will never get. I can never suggest supporting that kind of behaviour, and probably wouldn't have bought the game if I knew that when I did.
