It's Oblivion in space, basically, only with less bloom.

Game feels entirely unfinished and is terribly optimized.

I would advise buying No Man's Sky instead, as that game far surpasses this one in almost every way.

Avoid entirely, unless you enjoy getting scammed out of your hard-earned cash.

The less you know about this game before you start playing, the better.

You only THINK you understand what this game is about when you begin playing it. Trust me, you really don't.

I'm not gonna write what the game is about, or even what kind of game it is, since that would just spoil it for you.

It's a really good game! Just buy it without knowing anything and start playing. Trust me.

After patch 1.5, the game is now a whole hell of a lot better than it was upon release. All (or, at the very least most) of the truly game-breaking bugs have now been ironed out, and overall performance has been improved accross the board. The game world also feels much more fleshed out and "alive" than it did upon release. The game is still not perfect, in that it still does not contain every feature that was promised by the devs before release, but it is a LOT better than it was when it was first launched. Recommended, if your system has the chops to run it.

XCOM goes SJW in a game that blatantly tries to force a political agenda down your throat. The identity politics fairly reek in this whole game. Not a positive direction for the franchise to take. I realize the game is only ten bucks, but come on. I really wish major studios would keep this sort of political content out of their titles.

Gameplay-wise the game feels like a mobile game from mid-2015. The worst part is the horrible dialogue, which feels like it was written by a bunch of 15-year old kids during recess. The cartoony cutscenes does nothing to make the game a better experience. A shallow, political mess that most players would do well to avoid. Firaxis, I am disappointed. :-(

Game is presently broken. When starting the game, VR mode starts automatically (base stations power on / headset starts up, etc) and cannot be deactivated. Selecting to play the game in normal mode by hitting B on the controller when selecting "New Game" does nothing. There is no sound coming from the monitor, only from the VR headset. If you close the Vive app, the game closes with it, effectively making the VR mode auto-enabled and impossible to shut off.

I recommend everyone to *NOT* buy this game until the devs have fixed it!

The is - easily! - the single most beautiful game I've ever seen in my entire life. Beautiful, hand-drawn animations make playing "Cuphead" an awesome experience, and the fluid, surrealistic imagery is like something straight out of classic cartoons such as Fleischer Studios' "Bimbo's Initiation" (1931). Actually, the game is not that dissimilar from said movie, since most everything in the game is always changing shape and form and reality itself is constantly attempting to murder you!

An almost incredible amount of labour has been expended to make literally every frame in every animation look *exactly* like the visual style of 1930's cartoons. Visual tears and distortions have been added to make all animations look "dated". All backgrounds are either watercolor or rotoscoped (google). Snaps, scratches and audio pops have also been added to the soundtrack of period-specific jazz tunes, in order to make them sound "dated" and aged just like in old Fleischer movies. Even the lingo spoken between the in-game characters is identical to how it sounds in old Fleischer cartoons. All in all, the visuals, audio and atmosphere are all simpy breathtaking. Since I am a big fan of e.g. Fleischer's old "Popeye" cartoons, my jaw literally dropped the first time I played this game!

Gameplay-wise, this game is both a fun and deeply frustrating experience (in a good way!), in pretty much the same way that the "Dark Souls" series of games is one. In this game, you're faced with a constant barrage of gigantic, surrealistic monsters (and the occasional run-and-gun level), all of which have to be painstakingly defeated, one by one, in order to steal their souls and present them to the Devil instead of your own. Does that sound like a surreal, twisted backstory to the game? You bet! Is it any fun? Oh HELL yeah!!!

"Trial and error" is key in this game, as you frequently have to try the same battle over and over again until you have the patterns of each boss memorized. You get only 3 hitpoints (you can buy more in-game, but that makes your attacks weaker!). The sheer triumph you feel once you *DO* eventually beat a boss far outweighs the frustration you feel as you're still learning, however. It's also important to note that, even in the midst of a heated battle to the death, it is impossible not to admire the marvellous, hand-drawn animations and to marvel over the sheer passion that went into creating this beautiful game!

I very highly recommend this game to every player out there! I would also like to add that I would totally pay money to see a genuine "Cuphead" series of cartoons at some point!

Highly, highly recommended!

No Man's Sky permits you to travel to the absolute edges of an infinite Universe.

But the whole secret was that that Universe existed within yourself all along.
