This game is far more than expected. The sheer depth of open world exploration, ease of play, music and immersion make this experience extremely fun. There are over 750 cars to find, unlock or obtain. It's a racing game, a driving game and a scenic game. Check out a Steam broadcast and see what it is all about!

The game seems very realistic. It tells you once how to do things and then you have to figure them out after that. It is frustratingly fun.

From the Forum:

Release, Patch, Cards, Market, Transactions
I bought the game at release, edition 1.0. I was happy with the game. Today I looked for some cards, I've been purchasing cards, and found some at my preferred price point.

I couln't buy them though. Patch 1.2 meant that card changes, despite a marketplace to obtain cards, is the horizon. Why buy cards if one expects prices to go down even farther from altering the commodity?

What I would really like to hear from Valve is: We had to alter cards for balance, given a market, we will not do it again. We will be crediting users affected as much as we can since we profited off their transactions. We will not be changing any more cards in the future, but we will consider play bans, mode bans and the like. We are interested in the success of this game for everyone.

Short of a statement like that, I just can't find a reason to collect any more cards."

Disappointing. Changes appear to be sheer confusion and chaos.

Game at release and patch 1.1 was great. Patch 1.2 changed the game package, some cards, and thus game play.

(As of writing) You can buy a lot of cards for five cents a piece right now. That's over 66% off the price of buying in a pack. As some cards have changed, obtaining by either method seems in question.

I will recommend again if Valve shows confidence in their product by ignoring critics who cite player numbers, and, if Valve shows a greater focus on game play.

A chess like board wargame with a Lord of the Rings and North American football look. It is largely based on a table top miniatures game first published in 1986 and various versions since. Brutal.

This is a battle-not a sports-game. It is the restructuring of war in a fantasy world into sport contests but with extreme widespread corruption.

The game is not pay to play but it is pay to be competitive. Not all teams you face in multiplayer are available in the base game. This is not to say the additional teams are better, but your ability to research them (by playing them is). You can win with any team.

It gives a nice feel to playing a series of games and there are numerous leagues both AI controlled and player versus player. You can create online leagues, solo (versus AI) leagues, of several types; and you can have mutiple teams in various leagues.

Update: I've changed my review to not recommended after a 2-1 win with my all gnoblar team. The match does not appear in my team history: an "Internal Server Error" message was received. Nothing like playing a match with underdogs and not having it counted.

I have no problem with the use of dice in this strategy game. You manage risk. The game has a nice balance between strategy and variables like many wargames. The dice whiner reviews are silly-they provide no evidence of rigged dice. Again, you must plan and execute your moves in an order that proceeds from the greatest potential gain to the least. Put simply: Do everything you can prior to rolling (moving players with their skills in mind, assisting blocks, etc.), roll where you have the most gain and having prepared for possible failure.

The combination of Warhammer lore and modern sports is funny and odd. I see the game as mocking a lack of concern about violence.

If you like turn-based strategy or tabletop miniatures games I think you will have fun with this game.

Previously I found this game to be very random. It seemed that despite what one did for the hero party they were not able face encounters on the easiest setting. Even the prologue of the game used the wording "when you fail" not "if you fail". So many other games seem to have better balance.

Having returned to the game it seems the balance has improved or I just understand the game better. I like this game at present. I'd love to hear some voice acting for the dialogue. There is a decent amount of text to read. The game is very tactical.

Game switches characters for occupation. Game prevents me from liking it. It happened twice in the same game. Is this a murder mystery?

Seriously. Fix this issue and I will buy it again

No response? Fine. Deleting from library and will not buy it again.

Lot's of great strategic mechanics that seem to fit well with the heroes and bosses. Very much like the adventure party and lair defense aspect. A gem of a game.

It's nice to find a game that expresses it's characters well through it's mechanics. Labyrinth has lots to offer the tactical gamer. Anticipation and countering are key aspects to the challenge offered, both in deck building, the progression of the battle, your heroes' turn. Heroes have specialties but you can build a balanced party nuanced how you want. Your lair defense is a fun and unique aspect, almost a game in itself. While I bought the game previously I am nonethelesss glad to see it go free to play as additional players refine the challenge.

I had held off on my review because so much can be said about this game and I will likely add more (too busy playing it). Strategists I imagine will find this game very enjoyable and quite replayable.

The game's current state is unplayable since the November 2 patch. Card draw stall, game stuttering, hand arranging, game crash. Not sure what to say, I enjoy the game, but such issues have gone back and forth since I started playing it.

Casual game and fun as a casual game. This game is not for those who are competitive. Half the heroes must be purchased in addition to the base game. You are matched with players that might or might not have these heroes. One quarter of the heroes were promised exclusive to Kickstarter backers but have since then been released for sale-a breach of contract.

Previously:
The game is a work of genius. Balance, gameplay mechanics, the climactic struggle of heroes and various win condtions, artwork and thematic elements make this game an epic fairy tale with each play. I am amazed by it's simple play and deep strategy. While turn-based there are some real time aspects and tough decisions to be made, and all the intrigue of any adventure novel. I am still discovering this swashbuckling story.

Sadly, while the game excels in solo mode, mactchmaking seems to be at times problematic. Groups of friends are able to search and it appears that some are throwing games in favor each other. This makes no sense as there are no allied wins possible. Additionally, while connectivity issues seem to have been solved, a search mode for non-friends is not in place at this time. The game is not at fault regarding this-any abusive players are.

They have offered a chest or key drop for every game I have played since Art of Treason was released however, which is a really great bonus and incentive. These contain dice skins, many with effects, that are used throughout the game.

The game is casual not competitive as a number of heroes are available by paid DLC.

I can not recommend the game at this time due to the Bandit Clan Kickstarter issue. As I have been able to read it appears that this content was promised exclusive to backers but is now being sold. This sounds like a breach of contract. I think that the developers should not have to have a court tell them to do the right thing. I am not a Bandit backer and I do not need content promised as exclusive, it appears, to those who did. And because of this, I have no plans to buy it. I hope that someone can correct me if I am wrong on this issue. You may comment on my profile page to alert me of this.

It's a great game, the Bandit issue is my only reservation.

As of 11/14/15 and before, this is my favorite game on Steam. Awesome. Free to play and very fun. A collectible fantasy themed card game with tactical battle board resolution. Turn based tactics. Army composition strategy. Loads of free content. Play the computer or take turns in multiple games online. Dwarves, woodlanders and dark foes.

Strategy, tactics, customization, fun play modes, collecting, crafting, all make up this game. What you have are battles to fight with prior selections of troops and items themed how you want, your card deck(s). You play out the battle on a grid battlefield where you capture resources and deployment spaces while denying them to your opponent. Feints, evasion, subterfuge, gear, are all considerations; as is your soldiers' ability to leap, fly or fire ranged attacks.

Fun Play Modes: Play live games with a two minute turn time limit or play several games turn by turn without a time limit, turns sent to multiple opponents. Each battle you can play a different deck, and a deck from any one of three factions.

Collecting: You begin with a starter deck and as you play you earn free cards, free game gold and free game crystals, with which you can purchase additional cards, avatars and other heroes. You also earn free component cards that can be crafted into special soldier cards and other items. All of this is free.

Tactics: Which soldiers will you gear up, use together, or send out on their own? Do you need to grab territory or resouces, defend, raid the enemy stronghold or pursue their hero quickly? It's up to you and how you theme and build your army. There are sneak attacks, misdirection, counter attacking and luring into traps.

Strategy: Build a deck with soldiers and items of your choosing. You want a mob army? Elites? Flyers? Powerhouses? It's your decision. Will you rush for and deny resources, territory or have a slow moving tough battle line? This is for you to decide with each battle to be fought. Playing the computer in the Campaign mode allows you to try out various combinations.

Customization: You choose one of three factions but you can play all of them. There is a number of free avatars, others you can purchase with earned game gold. But as you can have a number of saved decks, you can have multiple themes, everything from low cost troops, to fast or ranged troops, or certain types or races of troops.

Crafting: Playing gets you component cards that you can combine into special soldier cards. While they are stronger, they have a higher cost to field in battlefield resources. Soldiers you can get on the field are important so special soldiers take consideration in including in your deck. Your other soldiers can be leveled up by the Fusion option, the combining of duplicate cards to nuance your soldier cards. It is for you to decide whether it is worth it to level a card up as it comes with increased battlefield resource cost.

If you like strategy, turn based tactical combat, a fantasy theme or customized gameplay you might enjoy Conquest of Champions. It has all of these well represented and is free to play.
