This game has been the hallmark of online competitive shooters for years, and that is why I loved it. The game has always had an issue with cheaters. The few things keeping them at bay was the fact that the game costs money and the cheaters needed to pay money in order to play, and the prime status upgrades that put all of the people who put forth the effort to link their phone numbers and other personal information to their account to show they do not cheat be lobbied together. With this most recent update it is abundantly clear that Valve cares nothing about the state of this game whatsoever. Making the game free to play has opened it up to as many cheaters as humanly possible, AND, they have upgraded all existing members of the game (cheaters included) to a Prime status. You are also able to BUY prime status now as if you were to buy the game. So when you join the game (FOR FREE, YAYY), get into it, decide to try your hand at competitive play, get CRUSHED by cheaters, are then forced to buy Prime in an attempt to avoid the cheaters, then realize this company is absolute ♥♥♥♥ and just attempted to rope more players in with a "Play for Free" tag and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Battle Royale that doesn't even run. Valve does not care about its community and has ruined this game for me forever. I hope anyone who reads this does not waste their time with this game or this company.
