Story [Warning: Spoilers]
Super Daryl Deluxe is a RPGVania taking place in a high school, you take control of the titular Daryl Whitelaw who just entered the famous Water Falls High school, known for its two students, Eli Bavarius and Kent Hangerman, who single-handedly saved the world! ...and also destroyed it.

There you meet two students, Alan Orpter, and Paul Palte who become your best friends, they hire you in their textbook selling business and your first job is to get one from the Science classroom, so you go there and oh, a member from the opposing business, the trench coat kids, stole it, well darn, you report back to Paul and Alan which tell you need to get a lot of textbooks from the nearby classrooms for any chance to beat the trench coat kids, so off you go exploring different school subjects each with its own unique environments and enemies inspired from what the subjects cover.
that's pretty normal, right?

But what's with this strange blue light everyone is mentioning? How did those two students save the world? and subsequentally end it? What's happening around the school?

Huge Spoilers for the rest of the plot:
Well, it turns out those two students created two books, a self-help book which saved the world, but Eli got into an incident where he was stuck on an escalator for 3 days, I guess this made him evil because later he went to make another book with Kent, this book, "Interacting With Others" led to everyone being brainwashed under Eli's control, because he had the idea to make a new world through a machine he built which can alter reality around it using the minds of its subjects as batteries.
Kent, after discovering this information, immediately stops Eli, supposedly killing him for good, and releases everyone from the mind control which led to the world ending, stock market crashing, international war, that sort of stuff.
But somehow Eli is back and got other people to help him redo this plan once again, using 4 students to guard the machines holding the living human batteries for storage, so you go through each of a students subject to try and stop them, each time a machine is destroyed, the people helping Eli get more desperate and reality itself becomes more and more unstable, at the end of the game many of the remaining areas become corrupted, amalgamations of previous areas explored in visuals, enemies, and music.
And eventually after destroying every machine in every class, you seem to be done but the princess which you have helped throughout the game has been transformed into a superweapon, after defeating her, you confront hangerman who immediatly tries to kill but you become super...deluxe....., but then becomes one too and you fight forever
until the cleaner gives you his special move and you defeat him, and blow up the school

honestly the story is really good but i felt the ending was really lacking as we dont know what happens to anyone after this and it just ends on "well you did it"

Visuals, Writing, Soundtrack
The game's writing, art, and tone all reflect a satire of typical, stereotypical high school settings, there's a jock, several kinds of nerds, trouble makers and underground dealers in the school.
Several things in the game are represented using school supplies, like your items being stored in a backpack, or your inventory and map looking like a notebook, with an illustration of daryl with the different items he can equip, you save by going to the bathroom, and you change skills/buy new ones via a locker.

Same thing with the writing, the characters talk how they usually talk, jock is all about sports and winning, the nerds either obsessed with ghost hunting or a role-playing board game, and every character usually talk for a while, explaining everything in detail, which can be a pain when you're trying to speedrun or if you just died from a boss and forgot to save.

The music is odd, it's mostly atmospheric and some areas don't have really memorable sounding melodies, but bosses have some really banging music, especially the final bosses and credits!

Gameplay
The game plays like a usual Metroidvania, with an emphasis on exploring areas and finding new equipment to boost your stats and new abilities to ease your adventure.
There are many things you can get and improve, for instance:
- Daryl levels up once you gain enough XP, increasing his Health, Defence, and Attack Stats
- Your Social Rank increases every time you get PP (Popularity Points?) from certain quests, each Social Rank rewards you with a passive boost.
- New skills are acquired through quests, buying them from Paul and Alan, or find them after certain points in the game. And skills are broken down to several categories, depending on what kind of attack they do, like Shock, Fire, Water, Slash, Strategic, and so on.
- Skills can also be leveled up by getting SXP from killing enemies, or by trading Textbooks.
- You can level up whatever skill you want multiple times and each time it increases its effectiveness, its chance to stun or not, its ammo count (if it has one) and other things.
- You get equipment from enemies, quests, or buying them, and after put them in your helmet, armor, 2 accessory, and 2 weapons slots, and some items have passive abilities or set bonuses when equipped.

You traverse through multiple areas, each one being themed around a school subject, having it's own environments and enemies themed too.
There are various characters/people who give you quests throughout the game.
I personally find many of the quests to be tiring, since most of them are fetch quests, and you don't get any kind of fast travel until very late into the game, so I hope you really like those kinds of quests!
There are various secrets throughout the game you can get in hidden areas, either by finding a silver key and opening the locked door, or by using a certain ability to open the path.

You fight various bosses at the end of each subject, some of them are students, some of them are school staff, some of them are creatures from within the subjects themselves, and each one has its own unique attacks and patterns, and they can really give you a wallop if you're not prepared.

If the game isn't fun enough for you, why not let a friend join you?
When you start a new game you can play alone or in co-op mode, where a second player can control another Daryl! but enemies are tougher so be careful.

There are also many smaller things peppered throughout the game like:
- Arena challenges with random rewards and some set items and abilities.
- A boss refighting machine you have to assemble by gathering various parts from their respective subjects.
- Many, Many side quests given by the numerous NPCs throughout the game, some won't be finished before the very end of the game!

Conclusion
So basically, the game plays well, looks good, sounds good, and is overall a very enjoyable game.
