Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute to explain some crazy science
And tell you how I became the Commander of a ship owned by the Alliance

In another galaxy born and raised
On the space station is where I spent most of my days
Turned 18, enlisted, joined the Armed Forces,
And got a sweet deal with shore leave at Elysium, but mid course
A couple of slavers who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I saved the whole town and no longer called a zero
And the Alliance said “We’re regarding you now as a true hero”
I begged and pleaded the Alliance day after day,
To give me a chance to do things my way
They gave me instructions to head for Eden Prime
I put my omni tool and never realized this mission was big time
First attack yo this is bad
Looking for survivors was makin’ Ashley mad
Is this why the people of Eden Prime are so serious?

Hmm this huge ship is pretty mysterious
But wait I hear noises, chirppy and electronic
Is this a geth? It looks mad demonic!
I don’t think so, we have to move on
I hope they’re prepared for us to take that beacon

Well ah the beacon exploded and I was knocked out cold
Had a crazy vision, didn’t expect what would unfold
I saw weird people being destroyed by machines
Man, stuff like this can only happen in my dreams!
I came to with people standing around
Had to let Anderson know that weird stuff was going down
He wanted to tell the Council, but they wouldn’t understand
But Saren had to be stopped, and I was ready to take the stand

I got out of the Council meeting around 7 or 8
And I met up with the captain “Yo homes sorry I’m late”
Captain Anderson said some pretty sweet words
“You are now the owner of the Normandy, Commander Shepard”
