The planets in SE are less interesting than the PN ones, but it has more extensive building options. Also space travel and gathering resources from asteroids is definitely a big plus. Another asset is the modding possibility: In my games I use dozens of great mods.
So yes, I do recommend SE, it is my all time favourite game to which I always return. It's like PN: you can fight if you want, but you don't have to. Exploring (in space) and building are much more important.
Also, SE looks interesting. I see you've over 1K hrs into it. Good game, I guess? Even though Early Release it is stable and playable?
