In every game either a cheater or griefer

Do not buy. Multiplayer does not work any more, not even LAN, because GameSpy service has been discontinued. It is VERY bad for a game meant to be played with friend. The game has been build to be played with 2 people - even on "single player".

The game is a masterpiece. The best of survival, RPG, simulation and strategy in one package.

You will build the colony, plan ahead and mostly die the most stupid way you can imagine. The simulation is insanely complex, yet you dont need to understand all mechanics. You have long time to discover how everything works and when you master it, you can download one of many great mods to change gameplay a little (or maybe little more).

I understand the game is not for everyone, but screw you - it perfecly fits my taste. If you run your own family (you are a parent, husband, wife or anyone with some burden of responsibility) then you will not be surprised how game characters mess up perfect plan because of their mood, traits or just a bad luck. You will enjoy their failures and how you manage these / even more than successes. You can choose how nuch game will mess up with you and how you can manage your bad luck... anyone can win if it is easy, but how well can you play when things gone bad?

The game graphics is the best it can be. Very simple, yet neat. You can use a little of imagination and that way better blend with the gameplay. Also it runs perfectly smoothly even without top PC.

Great idle game or maybe the best. Game mechganics are quite simple, yet there is enough things to slowly discover over the time. Dont be discouraged by crappy graphics, you will get used to that. It is a better way to fill out time with PC than to read threatening news or so - really, after some time with this game your overall mood is better, or maybe it is because of kitty...?

You should think twice before purchasing this game. The price is quite high - and I'm not talking about the actual money but about time it drains... I was going to mention more levels would be fine, more achiements would be great but no... it is so simle for our protection. After day or two you manage to get all achievments and you can peacefully go to bed and get some sleep...

Anyway, unlike windows minesweeper all levels can be solved without guessing. So, if you get stuck then you just missed something. It's always about the brain and you don't have to rely on luck - that feature may not seem to be important, but it is, as you are never going to click randlomly and you always know there is solution, you are just not seeing...

Best shooter I've played in years. Simple, real fun like in oldschool Doom or Duke Nukem you just go and kill a lot. Sure enemies are dumb... but that IS THE POINT, 'cause you want to relax and kill them all :-) Sure, they hide but that's why you can kill with piercing shot or ricocheted bullet or you can use that time to reload weapon.

There is experience, levels and skills too... so you can kill more enemies, in less time, even easier.

You don't get lost in a game, don't have to solve puzzle or some riddles. But after long difficult day you don't want to stuck somewhere and think... you want just to kill them all, go ahead and kill more morons on the way...

However I have to complain about few things in the game: for example I've encountered some friendly NPCs that I was unable to kill. So be prepared for such disappointment. I also have serious problem to enjoy duels: you have to patiently aim for few seconds and wait... just wait... and then you maybe kill one guy. Seriously. During the game you mostly kill 5-10 guys in the time period you waste on dueling. It would also be more fun to carry all weapons, you have to choose between rifle and shotgun, while you dont want to do such stupid decisions! You want to have all the firepower.

Oh, and I miss the rocket jump. I did try TNT jump, althougt as for now only with very little success.

Do not purchase this game in case you have high DPI monitor. It will cause you much trouble - you will not be able to access skills menu. Because developers haven't fixed that for years it will not be fixed ever.

I like the game. It is super easy once you understand the mechanics. No fighting. Just peaceful city building...
You just build, build, build... city grows and flourish until you made some stupid mistake. Villagers die. They die a lot. And they die all. Now you are smerter and you can start over, and I bet you will find out many other ways how to mess up city economy.
Great game, just wait for the sale.
Definitely needs sequel with more buildings, upgrades, research...
I miss something in the late game, I want to upgrade buildings or something...

I'm big fan of Civilization series... This game, however, is not worth buying.
I just might not like psychedelic colors but aliens are fun. And there ends the fun.

Tech tree (or rather tech web) is gigantic messy innovation I was never able to navigate through. In contrast with intuitive tech tree from earlier Civilization series... it is just so wrong and annoying... new player in earlier Civilizations is given choice of tech to discover. Not here. Here you have to bother with the whole tech web since first play and first turn.

In Civilization V (and IV) we had upgrades and we could focus these upgrades according to battlefield situation. So we can here, we can heal or add 10% strength bonus... and that's it... a joke...

Cities have tons of structures, and here is a great idea to upgrade structure via quests, but other than that structures are just a mess to remember, just too many buildings...

I could continue but every other game aspect (factions, units, city states...) is similiar: attempt of innovation, alienish look and feel, and definitely messed up.
But everything should be forgiven if the game is fun - IT IS NOT:
First play is just chaotic, there is no joy from discovering alien world and game mechanics,
And there is not much replayability...

The one good thing about Beyond the Earth is that you can finally realize that Civilization V was quite OK.
