As a fighting game, Battle for the Grid has a solid tag-team 2D fighter akin to that of Marvel vs Capcom, Skullgirls and Dragonball FighterZ. It has a lot of love and effort poured into it, a variety of mechanics pooling from other fighters to enjoy all the while interlaced with fast and frenetic gameplay. The online, which is a huge necessity of fighting games in this age, is better than most juggernauts. The community is lively and you can feel a pulse emanating throughout your matches. Who would have thought that having a solid game with good online support would lead to your community playing more often?

As a Power Rangers game, this is one of the best executions of the source material I have seen in years. There is so much love stuffed into this budget fighter and I cannot believe I am even experiencing it. The wonderful adaptations of the Shattered Grid storyline, bringing back old actors to reprise their past voicework like Jason David Frank and Austin St. John, and finding creative ways to implement Rangers, Monsters and Megazords into a 2D fighter go above and beyond what I would have expected.

As a Power Rangers fan, I love everything I've seen and played. They didn't have to reach for obscure characters like Dai Shi, RJ, and Udonna, all three of which come from two of the lesser received seasons. They didn't have to bring Vergil from Devil May Cry (Dan Southworth) back to reprise Eric Myers but they did. They could have just stuck in the original tried and true cast of MMPR with some change, and call it a day, but they didn't.

Instead we get a game that a fighting game fan will enjoy and a Power Ranger fan will adore. Absolutely stellar work guys.

P.S. Please add the Red Wild Force Ranger, you'll know why.

What a breath of fresh air this game is. The freedom to just run around an open playground combined with a frantic fighting system makes this game one of my favorite new entries in the Sonic franchise. And as a long time Sonic fan, I'm glad we are changing the formula a bit.

Monster designs are new, different, but not off-putting. Story content is pretty strong, stronger than I was expecting and elicited way more emotion from me than I was expecting to give. The ride was a fun one. The music was exactly what I wanted from a Sonic game and the whole package was stable and playable.

If this is the new foundation of Sonic games, I say bring it on.
