Mechanics: Great, so much potential, some things need a bit of tweaking but its not terrible
AI: Scary as ♥♥♥♥.

You need like minded friends to enjoy playing with a team, and solo is still a bit odd with friendly AI imo. but its good overall, even 1-2 extra people who play like you do will be enough as long as you learn the curve and know what youre doing
