The Imagination behind this game is amazing, kudos to the author and designer of it.

#1 I first played Contracts 2 so I thought the original Contracts would be a good game, what I do not agree with is like the Alpha Team coming after you from the direction you've killed everything back there? So where did the team come from, drop in from a silent helicopter? No, be beamed in from the starship Enterprise? No, they just freaking appear out of nowhere! That does not happen in reality! So IMO that sucks.
#2 How can the same weapons IE, sniper rifles, be so power different from Contracts 1 to Contracts 2, programming ignorance? Probably.
#3 I liked that in contracts 2 you could turn off the gore, so when you had to collect ammo from the dead enemy they still had a head or a face, being Ex-military I don't have a problem with the blood, but I do with half a head gone. Just my 2 cents.

I gave this a bad review in the beginning simply because STEAM was irritatingly and repeatedly asking me if I recommended the game and to comment why? I do like this game but being a military veteran I had to turn off the gore because it was making me sick to play it when you have to collect ammo from the dead. With gore enabled it is some of the worst graphic situations to come upon, but absolutely realistic, a 50 cal sniper bullet will do the damage to the human body as the game portrays. That said, I do like the game IMO though, it ended too quick!

I absolutely love this game with the community mods I have it running as far as the raw game without the mods it is lacking, but still worth playing.

I've played through the game 5 times so far so obviously I do like it, but these are the things I do not like about the game.

Even after playing through you cannot opt out of the end credits, and some movie sequences in the game should be able to be skipped but they cannot be skipped, even though you have zero response or input during them.

Dealing with the vendors is a drag out irritation, and the games AI is clueless as to whether you bought anything from them or not, you could have bought a massive amount and then basically flipped off, very irritating!

Unlike Human Revolution when you run a plus game you are Praxis limited, and still have to go through the Koller fix, which IMO is unnecessary.

Besides those irritants exploring the game has been rather fun there are some things I would like to see probably in the future developement of the game like for instance an alternate firing mode giving the ability to focus fire the Typhoon in a straight line instead of a circle, allowing a massive kill of a bot or such as that.

The absolute most irritating thing about the game is the never ending constant hatred and insulting comments in the game, sometimes it can weigh on you to the point of a face to face and finally punching them out, I'm not sure why the creators thought this was necessary, and I hope where they live they do not experience that type of behavior.

Of course no game is perfect and besides those comments it is a pretty good playthrough but not worth 60 bucks!

I love this game!
BioShock and BioShock 2 are freakishly absolutely excellent games they are true First Person Shooters, you can see and experience the hundreds of hours it took to design and create them.
Thank You for all your work Design Team.

First impression so far is what a let down!

The character Amanda Ripley moves like she has lead boots on, even when using the walk faster option it's no big deal!

Crafting including a Med Kit Oh No, a FarCry 3 flash back came to mind, that part sucks, maybe when the seriousness starts, the Alien will take a time out so you can craft a Medkit! ROFL

At this point I am truly happy I got this game at half price and did not spend 50 bucks on it

I am only 2 hours into it and was praying for an Alien to show up and just kill me to get out of the game, if it gets any better, well, we'll see?

Well the Alien showed up and killed me so that last wish is completed, almost 9 hours into the game now and my opinion has not as yet changed.

It's a cat and mouse game of a little forward progress and a lot of hiding, because you do not have the weapon capability to even hurt an Alien.

It's frustrating because I'd rather stand toe to toe and take him out than run and hide, but if you don't have the ability to fight back you have no choice but to run and hide, or die!

I understand why some did not like this game, I personaly did not care for any of it that strayed unbelievably far away from what it was supposed to be based on story wise, Like fighting other human forces, there was enough to deal with Alien wise there was no need for that side tracking. But even that was tolerable over the stupid section venturing through the sewers sneaking by mutated husks of Aliens, with no weapons! That section totally blew chunks! There was absolutely nothing like that in any of the Alien movies or games. Sometimes the AI in the single player game was useless when relating on those accompanying you, sometimes they were beneficial sometimes they could even lead you into trouble. Now that I've covered the things I did not like, I am recommending this game simply because of all the Alien games I've played, this was not the worst and at times it is rather enjoyable. However do not pay more than about 5 bucks for it through a steam special sale, you cannot beat it for 5 bucks. The smartgun auto targeted perfect for me as I read some had problems with it but I had none. If you haven't played it and you are an Alien vs Predator game fan from wayyyy back, you'll probably like it as well.

Edit: January 9th 2017, I really do absolutelely love some of the levels in the game as I have played through it a few times now I truly love the Smart Gun the little bit you actually get to use it is worth replaying those levels. I also like the fact after playing through you do not loose your weapon upgrades you keep them. A couple of tips, if you have access to the double barrel shotgun don't use it, it takes too long to reload, and don't even pickup a flame thrower that weapon is totally useless it will get you killed. Hudsons Pulse rifle and the main pulse rifle you acquire completely maxed out are excellent for the hord type of Alien attack, Hudson rifle only fires bursts so you have to get used to it, rolling back and forth between those 2 weapons can save you in an intense situation. It is faster to change weapons than reload, just be sure you did not forget to have the weapon you switch to fully loaded. Sometimes it is nice to go back to games you've already played and play them again, and that's what I'm doing with this game right now!

This is probably the most addictive FPS game I have ever played, from the different approach angles you can play the game from stealth to openly kill em all, however you decide to play the game is entirely up to you! The fantastic thing regarding the Directors Cut is after the first playthrough, you can start a new game in the + mode, which allows you to start out with all the previous Praxis Kits you earned, and the weapon inventory fully expanded. I have played First Person Shooters for years and years, but this is a FPS with a twist, I do not think anyone would be dissappointed getting this game, I truly have enjoyed it! Ryan
