Early Access Review
Recommended. This is on the "early" side of "early access" but I think if you give it a try you'll find something that is worth your driving time and with the hope that it only gets better from here on out. Who knows how much it'll cost in a few months. Driving feel excellent, ffb feels excellent (SimuCube 2 Pro), audio is excellent, AI are competent, tracks look good, performance is reasonable, UI and UX are a step up from rFactor 2. Give it a try and make use of the 2 hours no questions Steam refund policy if you really need to.

Still worth it in 2022. Check out RaceDepartment.com for mods that bring this to life.

Early Access Review
Every self-respecting sim racer should try Beamng. Its physics is what we all wish our sims had. Worth supporting a developer willing to do this. And it's fun besides.

Game doesn't even start on its own. Installed some mod people said to use in the discussion tab and then it started up to a black screen with music and nothing else.

Highly recommended for fans of Lord of the Rings. People say it's the most like Classic World of Warcraft so if that interests you give it a try.

The graphics are dated, technically speaking, but the art direction, landscape and world construction, colour and lighting, is excellent given what they have to work with. The world feels beautiful and it's an amazing experience getting to explore a virtual Middle-Earth. It's also a rather large world, too, with tonnes of NPCs that help give the world a lived-in feel.

The company appears generous with VIPs (subscribers) and free players, too, having just given out massive in-game gifts for their 15th anniversary, including every expansion for free, except the latest one. The monetization isn't too annoying. There are loot boxes you can easily ignore. I would like to see a VIP feature where they totally remove monetization for a more immersive experience.

Worth a try, absolutely.

Definitely recommended. AMS2 is getting better and better as Reiza's quick release schedule delivers continuous improvements. Driving rFactor 2 and AMS2 back-to-back made me realize just how close AMS2's tire model is to rF2's tire model (widely considered the best in consumer sims today, and I agree). The "joy of driving" is very present in AMS2 given a bit of time to acclimatize to the handling. The graphics are, on the whole, I would say the best, hands down, even better than ACC (some things about ACC are better but on the whole AMS2 looks better). The sounds could be improved. Overall a great title and highly recommended for pure driving enjoyment.

The definition of what a remaster should be. Total respect to the original, original artwork but upscaled graphics and audio, original gameplay and mechanics. Well done.

rFactor 2 is the best driving simulation in the cockpit. Period. You will have to get used to an old school UI but once you're in the cockpit and driving you won't care. Studio 397 has been working hard for a long time on fantastic new cars and tracks, graphics updates, and new UI updates. rFactor 2 was the game that Le Mans trusted for their 2020 Le Mans Virtual and the broadcast and on track driving by pros was brilliant. rFactor 2 has a bright future ahead of it. If you're a sim racer, you owe it to yourself to give this game a chance. You won't regret it.

Assetto Corsa is a great game in 2019 for sim fans and is only now just hitting its stride with an epic volume of free mods, a de facto official Content Manager, a Custom Shaders Patch that brings day/night/weather and more, it's a steal on sale. Go get it! Enjoy!

GTR2 is absolutely still worth it in 2019 for sim fans. Check out the GTR2 10th Anniversary Patch or the GTR2 HQ Mods Collection over at RaceDepartment.com to bring this title to life. Search "secrets of gtr2" for FFB tweaks. When the SimBin Mega Bundle comes on sale, with GTR, GTR2, Race07, GTL and so many more games and expansions, it's an absolute steal. Go get it! Update: I play this outside of Steam so my playtime isn't accurate. My playtime is in the thousands of hours.
