So when they say it becomes annoying once you exit the first complex to the "open world" part, they're no lying. I have played all the "shock" game and most open world FPS. This isn't to be confused with any of those. The zone infinitely respawn repair robots that repair robots. In ANY OTHER GAME you would have a way to cut that.

But not in this one. In this one you can turn it off temporarily.

I have no doubt it's doable, it might even not be too hard.

But it's

NOT

FUN

It's stealth without payoff a good stealth game provide, just walk slowly with a map hack lol. Alternatlively, endless monotonous shooting. Okay?

It really is quite an achievment in making things annoying. It's not like it's a ♥♥♥♥ game and everything sucks. Quite to the contrary it's very well optimized, superbly designed, the writing while not great is still ok compared to the standard, music is nice. Basic gameplay has a lot going on. It could be a good shock like game. But somehow it's not. It looks like one, it feels like one, but it constantly sabotages itself in amazing ways. Why? I don't know. Like there would be very little to change to make it at least remotely enjoyable. But no. Oh well. We can always replay Prey or Dishonored or even Deathloop. Atomic Heart tops them on many aspects but self immolate in incredibly stupid gamedesign decisions.

NOTE: checking for negative review funny how most stop at the same 8-10h mark. I wagger everyone stops at the same exact point - when exiting the first complex and discovering the infinite spawn of robots. "Hell no!"

Playing in team. It's just cool. Can't give a long term perspective of the game but as far as concept goes, this is just something I wanted to play.

HOT TAKE

A few hours in. Story reads ok but is not nearly as compeling or deep/interesting than the original game.
But. The first part (at least, God I hope at one point the actual game comes back) is a solo call of duty mission with "spectactular action" and "just gameplay". Gameplay is nice if that's what you're after and in an immersive RPG it's a nice *companion* to what's actually the core of the value but making it as if we're there to do massive boss fights rather than immersive story, exploration, freedom is just a failure in gamedesign. It's about FORGET YOU'RE V YOU'RE A GAMER IN A GAMING CHAIR WHO WILL FIGHT THAT BOSS IN A WAY V NEVER EVER COULD HAVE BECAUSE YOU PLAYED IT 40 TIMES (at least, if you play in Very Hard as you should bc the game is boring else). Defeat the whole purpose of the point, forget the Jerry Bruckenheimer pyrotechnic and just makes us more animations of eating noodles. "Boss Fights" are for boss fights game, not immersive RPG. No one like them.

FINISHED IT. SO?
Well it does get much better indeed gameplay wise. It's really "that" boss fight that's horrible. Redone it with a completely different character (hacker) and it was more or less as bad. It seems the game is simply not well balanced on very hard for that fight (and I had a lvl 50 capped pre PoL charcter).

So, the game for real?
Dog Town is quite small vs the original game but it has a ton of character. Gave me that "New Vegas" vibe where I just want to live there. Side quest are quite developped and while most of their story weren't that engaging they were written by adults for adults (looking at you Bethesda) and reasonably interesting. Some stayed with me.

Main story... Really a step down from the vanilla game, but the vanilla game is a masterpiece on that front. That lefts us with a good main story.

Gameplay wise the whole redesign is a big improvement. That game is just nice to play.

Cyberpunk is still the best immersive RPG around by a long shot. Do recommand, even at full price. Suck it for that early boss fight (or if you don't have a mental block, lower the difficulty if need be), the rest is just more Cyberpunk.

A game that delivers pretty much exactly what you'd expect, that is pretty the Robocop experience - a lot of nuts shot (it can't be just me trying to always go for it, right? ) packed in a gameplay that won't leave strong memories negatives or positives, other than it generally avoid getting in the way of the "Robocop Experience". A light "tell tale like" adventure, with dialog options "that will be remembered" leading to various outcomes (unfortunately pretty black and white AFAICT). A story that's honest and mostly competent (just highlighting how ridiculously bad Starfield is) although it becomes a bit cliché toward the end.

All in all another shining exemple of Polish gaming "like US gaming, but better". Contrary to CD projekt, no one in the team is "world leading" in its field and yet the game does totally hit the mark in ways US ones have been missing more and more (or Ubisoft for that matters).

Hopefully those AAA bros will look into this game and learn about how they keep on ruining their games with cheesy writing and irrelevant minigames etc.

This is more a toy than a game. You can't lose, play bad, or play that well. It's like a very, very cheap satisfactory, a relaxing video toy. That being said it's a pretty slick experience for a minute.

To the person who designed the miasma forest lever congratulation, you're the worst lever designer I've seen over the last 30 years. It's really is quite something to fail miserably at procuding even the apparence of not absolutely terrible gameplay one tile after the other. Jesus. You've switched the review from positive to negative all by yourself, and got me uninstall the game. Level design 101:
- don't make switches that sometimes work and sometimes don't (boats)
- don't emphasize how horrible your switches design is but having us unable to try to figure out WTF is wrong with your game the very quick second miasma now is on us
- don't then force us to wait needlessly in the miasma that it kills us
- to then send us back to save point that makes us redo 1 min of nothingness to still die at the same place because switch doesn't work
- then block our ways in ways that would be obvious in first person but are unreadable top down
- then kill us when we try to figure out (same horrible loop as before)
- then place more new unreadable obstacles etc.

I want that person to take a hard look at all of his colleague's work of love for years cover by the pile of feces he ♥♥♥♥ on it. I suggest he goes visit them and spat on their faces, then all the ppl who paid for his game, and we are all allowed to spank him back. What an absolute nuisance to the universe that person is.

Can't pick what monitor the game is running on so it goes on the wrong display.
No borderless windowed mode
Game doesn't care about big picture setting either.
So, unplayable.

I never passed the menu so this is all that I tested. The music is incredibly irritating. I was a Devil Dagger's fan but they forgot to make this one playable.

It has a unique core mechanic when carrying a ressource where the ressource can drop.
13 min in and I have no idea how idea how this work.

Playing is making is making informed decisions. I am not playing. And I am not paid for that time I just wasted.
Wait for a sale and still don't buy it unless there is a tutorial.

Games does a good job of giving a sense of place for the first hour to do ultimately nothing of it. There's a story that looks interesting at first but ultimately wasn't to me. The more it went the less I cared about the characters. At least it's not pretentious like Edith Fynch but those were 3 hours well wasted.

I liked the first one a lot. A lot a lot. This one not so much. Did I change? Or did the developer work with less care?

In a nutshell Supraland is sort of an FPV Zelda in an engaging world with a significantly heavier focus on puzzle than action (which is sparse).

Problem is that puzzle design is so so - sometimes it's good but often it relies on absolutely untold rules. So that's one way it can be infuriating (like that time where I looked for a guide, applied it, it didn't work like in the video but somehow worked later and I have no clue why). But the real bad part is that for a game that rely a lot on moving, the move are horrible. Jumps is an absolute PITA, clunky af, you'll be constantly interrupted in the middle of puzzle solving by endless, pointless cliping on details of the floor surface.
Music isn't horrible but it gets old real fast while you're struggling to understand what quirky solution is the only one the level designer sought of implementing (like hey water will remove paint, but not a puddle of water for some reason), stumbling on the landscape.

Story could have been a strong point but ultimately is delivered with such a lack of care. Games try to shrug it of with a ton of 4th wall breaking but I'd rather have the dev work harder on something as compelling as the first one (which, again, was great).

When you end the game you're left with "50%" content which a predicated to you going back in all the (not so many levels) and search blindly for skulls with your complete gear. Thx but no thx.

Wouldn't even recomment on a sale. Game is reasonably catchy but spit on your time.
