Early Access Review
TL;DR
Flashing Lights is an emergency services simulator where you can play as Police, Fire and Ambulance. I mainly purchased this game to be part of a virtual police unit and although the gameplay and content was entertaining for a while, I found this game to be extremely repetitive with the calls you get. Therefore I do not recommend this game.

Gameplay
You begin with the decision of choosing Police, Fire and Ambulance. As I’ve only played as the police, the review will be focused on the police faction. Once you choose who you want to play as, you can customise your character. I thought this was wondrous, until I noticed that the choices for customisation are notably limited. There’s only 3 ethnicities which are also merged with age and stuff so you cannot customise a character to resemble you, which defeats the purpose of customisation.

The disappointment did not stop there. First of all, the game offers no tutorial at all. You would think that’s okay in this game, but the controls are very different to other games. For example, the interact button is left click and to equip a gun, it’s 4. You have to manually look in the controls to find them out and that’s not great at all. Secondly, the gameplay felt tiring and repetitive as it is a tiny basic map with only one city, one landmark and long open roads. It reminds me of playing a really old GTA game with the size and plainness of the map. The game also felt the same over and over again because the calls always consisted of a criminal who is too simple to capture, cars parked illegally or intoxicated people throughout the streets.

On the upside, the gameplay and feel of playing as the police was delightful, for a brief period of time. It felt grand driving around with the sirens on and arresting criminals, and being an officer with my friend was surprisingly entertaining. After a while, it felt boring just socialising with each other so we entered a public server with 6 other people. However, that was our worst mistake. We hit around 40 frames and it was horrible so we left. Nevertheless, we still got some joy out of the game, it’s just the bugs that really made it bothersome and frustrating to appreciate.

Overall, the gameplay was great and kept us satisfied until the bugs came along. It offers about 20 minutes, in our opinion, before the game begins to feel stale.

Bugs, Visuals and Performance
This game is a complete mess in terms of bugs and performance compared to other Early Access titles. I understand it’s early access but for a $14.99 game, these really ruined my experience. These are all the issues I’ve come across in 2 hours;

- Major frame drops and stutters randomly,
- Cars spawn suddenly in front of me while driving causing collisions
- 40fps in online games with 3+ people
- Vehicle models look copy and pasted everywhere
- Neck stretches and bends awkwardly
- Car door wouldn't open (drivers door) no matter what
- Missing person cases would keep breaking the game to the point I had to restart the game

If they fixed these issues, I honestly would change this review right away to positive but until then, these bugs are what makes the game something I want to avoid.

Overall, this game is amazing however with the lack of content, the mass amount of bugs and poor performance, I cannot recommend the game at this current time. I’ll update this review when I see some improvements.

TL;DR
Fallout 76 is the sixth-instalment of the Fallout franchise (excluding the spin-offs). The game is dedicated towards a multiplayer fallout experience and to be honest, I think they’ve done an amazing job with it. In my 60+ hours from Bethesda.net, I have never once encountered a game-breaking server problem or any bugs that have disrupted my wandering in the wastelands. The greatest bug I have experienced was my friend floating (swimming on land), but it was entertaining and didn’t irritate us at all. Saying that, I really dig Fallout 76 and it is one of my preferred Fallout games to be released and I’m glad they brought it to Steam. Therefore, I highly recommend this game!

Contents: Gameplay, Performance and visuals

Gameplay
Like the other games, you are a vault dweller being released into the great unknown. However, unlike the previous games, you are not alone. You start off being released into the wasteland with a basic weapon, and vital supplies. You then get guided into the wasteland with a very basic tutorial mission setting you up with the knowledge and equipment you need. I think the tutorial is thoroughly done and straightforward, making the game manageable for new Fallout players. The main goal of the game is just to explore the wastelands, build yourself a home and progress your character by finding superior weaponry. However, you are not alone in the wastelands. Not only players roam the map but it is also full of mutated creatures such as; massive bugs, terrific beasts and more.

In my opinion, the gameplay is very enjoyable and keeps me going back wanting more and more. It offers a variety of things to do like treasure maps, boss-like battles, exploring nuclear zones, PvPing with friends. And also meeting new people! I’ve made plenty of friends exploring the wastelands and I’m sure you will too! The only thing lacking is the story however, this review was written before the Wastelanders update which includes human NPCs. Overall, the gameplay is amazing and exquisite for the price tag.

The game also offers a game mode called Nuclear Winter. This is Fallout’s battle royale with the twist of finding nuclear codes and being able to launch a nuke in the zone. I’ve personally had a lot of fun in it but if I had to choose a battle royale, I’d prefer to stick with Apex or PUBG.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics aren’t that great and the optimisation is poor. My framerate drops frequently in major areas and while running making it frustrating. This is a major issue that Bethesda needs to fix because it's my only complaint.

Overall, this game is astonishing and reinforces why I love Fallout games. Therefore I am happy to say, this game is amazing and I recommend it to anyone who is in love with the Fallout franchise.

TL;DR
Pacify is a terrifying game with the mission of tracking down grey dolls in a massive room-filled mansion and burning them in a boiler one by one. Sounds easy right? Wrong. You also have a possessed rogue child traversing through the corridors which will lash out and transform you into a doll any opportunity she can get. I had a lot of joy with my buddy playing this game and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some spooks.

Contents: Gameplay, Performance and visuals

Gameplay
You begin at the front of a bulky mansion as a paranormal investigator, so to speak. Your primary objective is to clear the house of all evil. Basically, in-game term, the real mission is to hunt down possessed grey dolls and burn them in a boiler. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. To get through the house, you need 4 types of keys and these keys allow you to progress further and further to the furnace. The only thing standing in your way of getting to the furnace easily is a demonic child who wanders the halls. She seems pure but when I got close up to her, let’s just say, my trousers were no longer dry and my ears were ringing with a demonic howl.

Pacify also presents a multiplayer mode allowing you to group with your friend(s) to try and beat the game. It also allows you to do PvP where the person that does the most work towards pacifying the house wins the game.

Overall, the gameplay was really entertaining and amusing for me and my friend. We almost had a heart attack by how terrifying it was in the beginning and while being chased by the demonic girl. We've also encountered many very funny times which we will remember. We keep coming back to the game even when we say we're not going to. My only complaint is that the game can feel repetitive as it’s only one map BUT as there’s a new Farm map coming soon, I can’t say this game is not worth buying for the long term.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics are excellent with a decent variety of graphic presets. The game runs perfectly smooth on my computer and I have no issues with FPS drops or graphical artifacts. For one developer, this is a very well optimised and designed game and I hope for a Pacify 2 in the future!

Overall, this game is astonishing and suits the horror genre by far. I highly recommend this game to horror game enthusiasts

TL;DR
Bullet Roulette is a VR game where you sit at a table with 3 other characters with a revolver in the core of the table. It works as Russian roulette with the twist of cards which can decide your fate (or other character’s fates). It is a last man standing gun game. The more times you pull the trigger at your head and survive, the more coins you get. With each coin, you can then pull the trigger at someone other than yourself. Overall, playing it with friends really made the game enjoyable and we had a load of funny moments. Therefore I highly recommend this game if you have buddies to play it with.

Contents: Gameplay, Performance and visuals

Gameplay
You start off by assembling at a circular table with a revolver in the centre, with 3 other players. Each member of the circular table is given 3 cards allowing them to manipulate the gun or the outcome (such as spinning the barrel, checking it etc.) For the first rotation, everyone has to pull the trigger at their heads. If you die, you have to sit there for the remainder of the match. If you survive, you get a coin. This coin allows you to shoot at another person. Me and my friends got really confused when we started out as we went in blind, however it came clear to us.

The gameplay was really fun to us. It was a basic, yet unprecedented, approach of Russian roulette. We did roleplay, we put on humorous voices. Although they were the most common and some would say ‘boring’ things to do, we still had a lot of delightful moments which we’ll remember. Notwithstanding being fun and all of that, it does have flaws.

First of all, the multiplayer is stagnant. Unless you have mates to play with (or find people via the discussions), you’ll end up competing against AI or having the rare chance of finding a game to join. Secondly, the gameplay can feel tiresome very quickly. There’s no exceptionally big twist to it and it’s constantly got the same soundtrack, map and NPCs going around in the same sequence every game. For the cost of the game, I would highly advise waiting until a sale.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics are simply designed. They’re neither too magnificent nor too basic. Though, me and my friends did struggle with some frame drops every now and then. This is definitely something the developers need to look out for. However these drops only last a round and then they generally fix themselves.

Overall, this game is amazing and great and brings a unique twist to the Russian roulette game style. Therefore I recommend this game if you have friends to play it with!

TL;DR
Death and Taxes is a game where you play as the grim reaper in the office. The game offers a multi-branching storyline with meaningful choices and a lot of tough responsibilities. I really enjoyed this game although I was put off by having to meet strict goals on who dies and who lives. Felt like I was being driven with my choices. Despite this, I had a lot of fun and highly recommend this to Papers Please fans.

Gameplay
You are created by, presumably, Satan as the Grim Reaper in an office job. Your job is to choose who lives and who dies in a city subdivision, managed by a man with a cat named Fate. He is your boss who assigns you the humans who you have to decide with and targets (i.e. You must kill 3 humans and not kill anyone who specialises in medicine). You play day by day being managed by Fate.

The start of the day begins with you inside your office. At the start of each day you’re given a letter with your set goals, and pieces of paper containing the; name, age, job and a description of each human’s life. As you progress through the days, you get more and more humans to deal with and harder to follow goals. Remember, if you stuff up once, you lose your pay for that day entirely. In my opinion, that’s really stressful as you need money to get new equipment but it cannot be helped unless you concentrate.

After choosing the humans, you then visit Fate who will either praise you or argue at you for messing up. You can speak to him through interactive speeches which each one you select, gives you a different answer and a different reputation with him. After that you recieve your pay and you can either go to bed or go to the shop to buy items which can either help or frustrate you. Each day is basically the same routine. I found this game really boring after 30 mins of playing straight but I wasn’t much of a fan of Papers Please so it’s each to their own.

The voice acting is amazing to be honest and the quality is perfect. You can really have a feeling of their attitudes each voice to their own character. The voices really suit the role of the characters.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics are black and white. There is also a hint of colour but that makes the game fit in with the theme. Life is pretty much black and white as the grim reaper. Either kill people or keep them alive. It’s really basic. Despite that I really don’t take notice of the graphics and the performance is obviously good even on low-end laptops so nothing to worry about there.

Therefore I really recommend this game as it feels unique in it’s own way.

TL;DR
Crisis Vrigade is a SWAT / Police simulation where you go into dangerous scenarios ranging from a bank heist to jewelry theft. It’s a great game where you take cover and fight against AI, HOWEVER the game is extremely difficult even on the easiest difficulty. The hitboxes can sometimes be off, the cover is too low for some people and the enemies are CONSTANTLY shooting. Therefore I cannot recommend this game.

Contents: Gameplay, Performance and visuals

Gameplay
You are in the role of a SWAT trooper with the objective of killing a gang of armed terrorists in different scenarios. The first, and only scenario, I played was Bank Heist. I’ll explain the reason for not completing it later. The objective is to advance through the bank to disarm a bomb which is heavily guarded by armed hostiles. The bomb also has a 6 minute time limit so you’re under pressure. The game does not include trigger teleport nor thumbstick movement as after killing all enemies in one section (i.e outside), you shoot a sign which pops up which allows you to teleport inside to a certain area.

The primary gun you get is a normal pistol with an unlimited amount of magazines on your vest. The only way of using full-auto weapons, which is what the AI uses, is shooting a token that pops up randomly on some dead hostiles. However this rarely shows up and you only get to use the 1 magazine before going back to the pistol. The enemies are at an extreme advantage especially when there’s 3+ alive as there are constantly bullets being shot at you.

In my opinion, the gameplay is very repetitive as all it includes is killing enemies time and time again with the same routine. Take cover, shoot, take cover, shoot, get shot. Unless you’ve actually trained professionally to deal with these kind of situations, it’s highly unlikely you’ll complete a mission unscathed even on Rookie difficulty, which is the reason why I didn’t complete the first level.

The reasoning for not completing and giving the other missions a go is that it’s literally too difficult. Despite being able to choose between Rookie and Hell difficulty, rookie still includes constant fire towards you and sometimes headshots do not register. And trust me. I’ve held a gun in real life, played Pavlov for hours and SUPERHOT. I know how to shoot and pointing the guns at their heads and firing did not kill many terrorists and got me killed instead.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics are basic poly designed and are not anything special. They look like they were ported straight out of a community-designed map from Pavlov so they don’t bring anything unique or special to me in any way. However the optimisation is amazing and stays at a stable 80fps on my 1060 3gb so props to that.

Despite this game being an amazing concept, it’s simply too difficult and makes it feel unplayable and non-enjoyable. Therefore I cannot recommend this.

TL;DR
Superhot VR is an amazing virtual reality port of the desktop classic. It is an amazing, fun and immersive experience in so many ways. You can dodge bullets like a ninja and destroy enemies in the coolest ways possible. Overall this is an AMAZING game and makes it to my favourite VR game I’ve played. I’d buy it multiple times if I had the cash so I highly recommend this game!

Contents: Gameplay, Performance and visuals

Gameplay
Superhot VR’s gameplay operates the same as the other 2 desktop originals. Time only moves when you move which is used for dodging bullets easily but as it’s in VR, you need to be a bit more flexible than the desktop games where you just press A and D. The whole main part of the game is to advance through levels which become harder and when it’s in VR, it can be very frustrating. However the gameplay kept me entertained for a while and it was extremely enjoyable. It’s very fun but also very difficult depending on your fitness which for me is a con haha.

The game of course has a backstory like the other two. The backstory of the game is that you are playing Superhot in VR in the VR. Sounds confusing right? You are basically being controlled and forced into playing SUPERHOT and having your mind corrupted, similar to the background story of Superhot Mind Ctrl Delete. Overall the gameplay is fascinating and will always keep Superhot being SUPER HOT.

Optimisation and Visuals
The graphics of course are beautiful. They may be basic colours but they are what makes superhot original. If they changed, it wouldn’t be superhot anymore. The game is AMAZINGLY optimised being able to run on an i3-6100, GTX 1050 ti & 8gb RAM system at a stable high framerate. It’s the perfect VR shooter game for those with a low-end VR desktop that struggles to run the more demanding games.

Therefore I highly recommend this game and the other desktop superhot games!

TL;DR
Saber Fight VR is basically an unofficial Jedi game. You get your very own lightsaber which you can throw and summon using ‘The Force’, you can deflect lasers and more. Overall it’s a very compelling and fun concept despite having performance drops. I highly recommend this game and here’s why.

Contents: Gameplay, Performance

Gameplay
You start off with a tutorial which teaches you to throw the lightsaber, use a pushing power which can move boxes, deflect lasers, hack through turrets and robots, and use the lightsaber to cut through obstacles. The lightsaber does a really good job cutting objects which is an amazing feature. Another cool thing I like about the lightsaber is that if you cut something in half, both halves literally have a separation line that shows a lightsaber cut and if you use ‘the force’, both of them completely split.

After you complete the tutorial, you enter ‘The Temple’ which gives you a small map in the centre of the room with missions. As this game is being developed by one person with one headset, there’s a lack of missions but a new mission is released regularly which keeps the gameplay extending.

However, the gameplay feels repetitive which can ruin the experience and fun as all levels consist of walking down corridors, deflecting lasers and killing the shooters. This kind of dulls down the enjoyment I got from the first level. The concept is amazing, don’t get me wrong, but the things you can do and the things that can be done are very apart at the moment. Deflecting lasers can also be very difficult as you have to swing your saber at every individual one and some turrets shoot 3 at a time. But as I said it’s development team consists of one person so there is a lot of room for improvement.

Optimisation and Visuals
The visuals are between amazing and dull as they seem low budget. Although the graphics aren’t amazing, the framerate in-game is never stable and it runs extremely poorly on some maps. In general it sits between 60-80fps on my 1060 3gb but on 2 missions it sits at 30. However the developer said optimisation is coming in the future which leaves high hopes.

Therefore I recommend this game but I would say, wait for new updates

Imagine Papers Please and a choices matter game had a baby. This is the product. Not for Broadcast is an amazing video game where you control what goes on broadcast and it requires a lot of concentration. I’ve played a lot of this offline as well (5 hours total) so I absolutely have to recommend it.

Gameplay
The gameplay kept me entertained for quite a while as I’m a fan of concentration and actions have consequences. The whole game mainly takes place in the broadcast room. The access to the room is a 180 view. Meaning you can look to your left, front, underneath the desk and to the right. The gameplay itself is really solid however I won’t reveal anymore because the tutorial is like 15 minutes long and you don’t wanna know much now and then have it repeated to you.

Optimisation and Visuals
The visuals are so beautiful and optimised that there isn’t even a settings option. As 90% of the game relies on live-action visuals from amateur actors from the developers, the game doesn’t rely on heavy processed graphics which is great. I tested this game on a laptop with 4gb ram, intel igpu and a weak cpu however I maintained a solid 60fps. This game is amazingly optimised and I love it.

Sorry this review was so small. There’s so much that you should just explore for yourself. This game is a masterpiece.
Overall I highly recommend this game!

TL;DR
Pavlov is one of the first big shooter games to hit the VR market and it still holds today. It contains amazing optimisation for mid-range systems with a solid 90fps on almost every map, and it also provides hours of fun and amazing gunfights to be remembered and uses realistic gun reloading mechanics. Overall this is one of the greatest shooters I have played on VR so far. I highly recommend this game.

Gameplay
The gameplay kept me entertained for several hours. There are 6 different gamemodes to select from and thousands of community maps on the Steam workshop to add variety to the game at which I can select. The game includes; Search and Destroy, Gun Game, Team Deathmatch, Free-for-all, zombies and custom.

Custom normally indicates it’s a custom map with its own mechanics. For example, one game I played was ‘Grenade-ball’ which was like dodgeball with grenades. There was a barrier in the centre of the map stopping enemies crossing your territory like real dodgeball. And let me say it was an incredible amount of fun and I would play again anytime.

Search and Destroy is used for Trouble in Terroist Town. In TTT, there are 6 innocents, 3 traitors and 1 detective. The detective has access to a Med Kit and a scanner displaying the role of the person it is aimed at and it has 3 uses. The traitors have access to a scanner to show where innocents are and they have a knife which is an instant and silent death. Innocents can only use guns which are randomly placed around the map varying from shotguns to smgs, snipers to revolvers etc. Zombies, as you can guess it, is just surviving zombie hordes.

Multiplayer
This game as a whole is multiplayer. In my experience at least 40% of the playerbase is toxic but thankfully the developers added a majority kick system and a muting system so idiots can be handled without the need of reporting. In TTT there's also a system where if you are a good guy and you kill too many innocents, you can be banned from that gamemode and lobby so it's a good automatic system. I've had a lot of fun with people in my lobbies as they are normally quite friendly and we do roleplay and joke about.

Optimisation and Visuals
The visuals are beautiful even on low and it is amazing optimisation wise. I use a GTX 1060 3gb, Ryzen 5 2600 and 16gb RAM and on ultra settings I get a stable framerate (apart from some custom maps but that may be community wise). HOWEVER if you're planning to play on lowest textures, don't. Lowest textures gives the guns really bad form and the iron sights basically become useless as the textures on them blend into the hole of the sight making it seemingly pointless.

Overall I highly recommend this game to mid-range pc users.
Thank you for reading!
