Yes, the Calypso Twins villains are annoying, but when you get off the first planet Pandora and into Sanctuary (5th story mission), they are mostly in the background for much of the story. Sanctuary 3, your home base, is a space ship this time! Very cool. The music overall is pretty good. Maurice the talking Saurian and the event mission Revenge of the Cartels are the coolest things in the game.

If you like the Borderlands series, this is more of the same, and I would not recommend skipping it just because of the disappointing main villains.

Suffers from the same problems as GTA 5 Online. Hackers in every lobby whose favorite thing to do is teleport everyone in the session to them and blow everyone up. Just expect to be interrupted from whatever you are doing and teleport halfway across the map and having to get back there after you find a new session.

Slow loading times even with an NVMe SSD. Unskippable cutscenes in story missions.

An unfixed bug where your game will get stuck in a transition cutscene when you enter the Stable with your horse - you have to dismount and make it flee before entering the Stable.

Toggle Aim setting is broken where you will be kicked out of the right click menu a lot.

And a crazy expensive economy where every weapon, horse, and outfit costs hundreds of dollars while you earn only $15-$30 for every activity you complete.

The main selling point of this game is the miniature USA world map. If you get the game you get it for that. It's fun and relaxing to just pick a spot and start driving aimlessly. Unforunately, it still feels empty because you can only have max 8 players in a session.

There are 598 vehicles in the game but it's a long grind to buy any. You get about 15-20k bucks for every race. But each car usually costs around 300-500k, so that's a lot of grinding, about 20-25 races to own another car. Only a handful of cars are under 100k. There's also their version of a Battle Pass called "MotorPass" which costs 3 million bucks.

There is multiplayer matchmaking but it takes a while to find a group, usually about 10-20 minutes. It's not obvious how to get to it as it's called "Live Battle" instead of multiplayer, and needs 4 players to start (8 max). Good luck trying to find a group on the 2nd rotating playlist as everyone is on the 1st fixed playlist for Street Race and HyperCars. Plus there's no music when you're waiting!

If the choice is between Tannenberg and Verdun, I would pick Verdun.

It feels like a step backwards without the Squad Defense 4 player co-op mode. Although this is likely due to the new Maneuver mode being incompatible with it whereas Verdun had Frontlines mode.

Currently suffering from server connection problems. The matchmaking servers fail to connect most of the time but sometimes they do if you're lucky. This will likely be a constant problem from now on as there were reports of server problems last year too. They were slow in the past but now won't connect.

A solid game with 4 player coop. Has a massive map, a lot of content with a bit of variation but you end up doing the same things over and over. It's a long grind to pick up all the weapons, attachments, skill points, and medals; which are spread out on the map. Tier One mode unlocks after you level up and gives supplies bonuses but forces you to play on the hardest difficulty.

Unfortunately the game suffers from a lot of Quality of Life (QOL) issues. You will spend most of your time down waiting for a revive, or repeating missions over and over because the target died or someone got detected. You will be stuck staring at a loading screen every time you die, fail a mission, or fast travel. Even with an NVMe SSD the load times are long. You can shoot while riding as a passenger on cars and helicopters but it is very difficult to aim as your aim moves with the vehicle. Vehicles also have low health and don't last long, even the APC. Calling for a vehicle delivery will often spawn it far from the group in dumb places which is infuriating as you will be using it all the time.

This is one of those games like GTA 5 which is overall a fun game but very frustrating at the same time due to all the issues. With server problems it's hard to play in coop which is what this game was built for. Hard to recommend unless it's 10 dollars and there's nothing better to play.

I played BrainBread when it came out as a Half-Life 1 mod in 2006, this is the same idea with more polish. It's just raw fun to shoot infinitely-respawning zombies without worrying too much about ammo. The objective maps are pretty simple and laid back. It would be nice if there was a modifier to have no player zombies, they've always been overpowered and annoying.

An action shooter just like RE5. It's enjoyable with a friend. I know QTEs are generally hated, but with this game you WANT to fail for some great death animations. Devs tried to make the game replayable with ranking systems and unlocking unlimited ammo skills once you finish all the campaigns. But since all the campaigns overlap the same time period, you probably won't want to redo them. Mercenaries mode is sort of like a time-based survival mode but there isn't much to it.

Controls are too complex with a cover-based system and "action skills." Not intuitive at all how they set them up. Keybinds are weird with 1 for health tablet and 2 for crouch - number keys are supposed to be for weapon switch. Not enough slots in inventory so you'll be throwing stuff out often.

Play with a friend, this game was built for coop. Otherwise skip it.

A half-decent arcade racing game that is hard to recommend unless it's 5 to 10 dollars. It suffers from a lack of polish and an online system that stunts replayability.

Starting off was rather difficult as the base heat level 1 cops are way faster than the starter cars and parts. It took until about 200-250 performance rating to start outrunning them. The 1973 Porsche 911 RSR is pretty much the only car worth using once you unlock it at Rep level 16. Other cars I've tried all seem to have sloppy handling compared to the RSR. Don't bother with the 2016 Koenigsegg Regera - many websites list it as the fastest car but it's only fast in terms of top speed, with acceleration sorely lacking.

Endgame requires about 5-10 hours of grinding for Ultimate parts which requires getting to heat level 5 to unlock both high heat races, exiting through a garage and repeating. It's a frustrating time consuming grind, but easy if you use the RSR. It's also quite a grind to get any expensive car as races usually award about $50k. Once you've unlocked all Ultimate parts there's no reason to race during the night since only day races award money and you don't have to dodge cars which really does get old fast.

A lack of polish is immediately apparent with loading screens that have wheels glitching out with elongated or compressed suspension rather than sitting flat on the floor. Cops will sometimes spawn out of nowhere but you're supposed to see them on the minimap scanner. I don't know if it's supposed to be like this but cops and A.I. racers will keep pace with you when you use nitrous to outrun them which doesn't make sense. Servers will often notify you of a server restart forcing you to quit to the menu and reconnect. The G key which shuts the engine off isn't even listed in the keybindings. The W key for accelerate has a weird bug where it'll sometimes just stop sending so you have to push and hold the key again - and it's not my keyboard as I tried another keyboard and still had the bug. I beat the game with keyboard and mouse but I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Overall it should be a decent game but the whole point of the game is to unlock parts so you can customize cars and race in multiplayer. But multiplayer doesn't work the way you think. You're thrown into a lobby with 16 players max with most of them doing their own thing, split between day and night maps or just in the garage menus. To start a multiplayer race you challenge the players in your lobby. Half the time nobody responds and the race is canceled, and I have never gotten more than 4 people in a race. It seems a lot of people are playing the game but because of the way multiplayer was designed it's always quite empty.

Early Access Review
Clunky controls, bad inventory system. Was pretty interesting at first but just ended up not being fun to play. Low fps (20-40) when zoomed out, this is a type of game that should be running far smoother. To top it off, a friend and I joined a well-populated PVE server for new players, and got trolled by an admin almost immediately. At first it was negligible things like spawning items and blocking doors temporarily. But then the kid spawned a bunch of zombies literally dropping out of the sky and got us killed. All we wanted was a decent PVE server with minimal mods and hopefully meet other survivors during our run. We might be willing to give the game another shot but the server browser is garbage. Can't exactly recommend a game where admins really think it's okay to pull these kinds of stunts on players.

The game seems good on paper doesn't it? You get to build your own post-apocalyptic battle car and test it in battle. The problem? You will never get the parts you really want and you don't even get enough of the parts you gain through leveling. Nearly 50 hours in and still can only build very rudimentary vehicles. It's not worth your time. It's pretty much a pay to play game as what you get feels like a demo.
