Here's one of the extremely few games that really managed to connect with me emotionally. The central theme, really, is dealing with change, and how you can't really go back home. Home always changes, the people change, and you change, so it won't ever be the same place that you originally left behind. It's great stuff. There's a lot of humor to enjoy along with the drama, and most of it actually works, which is a damn miracle for videogame writing.

I had two issues. One is that Mae doesn't feel like she's 20 at all. More like 15. Makes me think the story was originally written for a younger character. The second is that most of the characters have the same voice. If it wasn't for colors and sprites, you wouldn't be able to guess which one of them says any given line, with some exceptions.

But still. It's an excellent narrative game. I even liked the odd ending, as despite it being odd it does tie into the game's central theme, dealing (or not dealing) with change. Strongly recommended, even at full price.
