They updated the game in March 2024 and renamed the game to Collector's Edition, I've never seen this game being updated before. I heard it broke some stuff but after a few hotfixes it's all good for me now, just like before. They even removed GFWL, which is neat.

FlatOut Ultimate Carnage is one of the coolest racing/derby game along with Burnout Paradise, in the same vein as Destruction Derby (1995).
Physics and destruction are pleasing although one single traffic cone will flip your car over occasionally, yet you can plow through lamp posts.
Neo metal, punk rock soundtrack... it's all good, that's in the theme I guess.
Graphics are holding up nicely to this day despite the game being a sort of "completed" version of FlatOut 2 (or so I've heard).
Would be nice to have more races but frankly the game is worth its price so I can't complain, I'd not put more than 15€ and this is what I paid back then.
Multiplayer is a score-based thing, there's party games with original mini-games, and derby arenas too, it's fun.

I personally love FlatOut, love the speed, the destruction and the overall feeling and behavior of the vehicles. I recommend.


PS: One important thing, play with a controller. The turns are optimized for joysticks, let me explain, when you turn with your keyboard buttons, the turn of your car only accounts for 50% of how hard you can turn with the joystick, and you also need to tap. It means you lose a lot of control with the directions. To put it simply, the keyboard maneuvering is messed up, you cannot turn the steering wheel to it's max with the keyboard.
