Pretty straight forward stuff. You give money they give you stuff in game ONE time per wipe. Not really pay to win because it doesn't really help you not lose it all in less than 3 seconds to someone hiding in a bush you had no way of seeing. I believe in the future of this game so I believe in supporting the devs for now with stuff like this.

Someday I could probably recommend this game, but not yet. The AI are braindead 90% of the time until you meet the one gangbanger that is impervious to bullets and insta caps your head. Not to say they haven't been improved, but they still have a long way to go. I think they need a downed state in order to improve realistically. When I shoot someone in the head, they should go down. I get they might not be dead, but shooting a guy in his helmet-less head only to watch him bend over and rub his head is anti realistic and anti immersive. And then it becomes ridiculous when he bolts like lightning and then starts to return accurate fire 2 seconds later. They're also still basic in their attention capabilities, like how they just have to hear you stepping on the other side of a wall and they instantly know you're an enemy. Grenades are mostly just a ping on your position when you use them for whatever reason. And my armor only seems to matter maybe 1 out of every 10 deaths. And when I do get the drop on them and somehow don't kill them with a bullet to the back of their neck, they insta spin on me within a millisecond.

YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TURN YOUR BODY 360 DEGREES IN A FRACTION OF A SECOND IN A MILSIM GAME FIX THIS FOR PLAYERS AND AI PLEASE

Other than the AI the sound is not good. Really hard to tell the direction of bullets and if you're actually being shot at or if someone within 2 miles is shooting their gun. It's kinda funny how suppressors are more a pve thing since that whole sound quality issue. Suppressed gunshots sound carry just as far and are almost as loud as regular shots. The PvP is okay, but still way too susceptible to cheese tactics like camping, and people in comas shouldn't talk and one should be able to finish them.

Overall the first year of this game's development has looked pretty good, but the devs asked for reviews and here it is. I don't recommend it but perhaps later if they don't do anything too boneheaded.

This game lacks so much. When you think about how much time and effort apparently got put into this game it should resemble a game that has so many fleshed out details and intricate systems that actually function. This game hardly has any of that and it definitely doesn't function very well. Performance issues aside this game has some ridiculous bugs and no, they are not charming and they certainly are not enduring. It is annoying when I'm talking to an npc and they just start jitterbugging down the lane away from me, all the while two other npcs a few feet away start having an inane conversation completely blasting over the 'important' stuff you actually want to hear. Doing the other faction missions is downright stupid sometimes. You can be the morally righteous space marine who has to infiltrate the space pirates and you better not kill no civilians cuz the officer man might say a mean line at you and then it really doesn't matter 2 seconds after he says it. The lines of npc logic are so shoddy and contradicting most of the time it really takes me out of it all because there is no line of dialogue or any way to acknowledge some dumb things the npcs say and do that contradict what is established.

I thought the one potentially good part of this game would be the new game+ stuff but surprise surprise that gets buggy too. I got into a universe where I could not use my inventory nor could I save the game. The only fix is to reload the game before you rolled that particular universe. I did so and nothing is different on the universes that actually work. I did try to run all the way through the bugged universe because you can equip weapons via containers and bodies but died on the final battle because the emissary just kept getting health back as soon as they were 1/3 health on the final bar.

Furthermore the sandbox part of the game is pretty boring. You go to some cave/deserted outpost/base (a lot of which are the same reused structures) and fight the same raiders in spacesuits and then you loot everything and that's pretty much it. If you've played any bethesda game in the past you've already been there done that a billion times. Ditto on outposts cuz they don't really do much for you other than facilitate roleplay. Which I guess is how you're supposed to roleplay in this game cuz you are incredibly limited on it when interacting with npcs. Most instances will only have a couple dialogue lines that will advance the conversation, and they usually be a polite advancing phrase or a douchey rebuttal. Sometimes there are neutral things to say but it's incredibly situational and rarely do confrontations with enemy npcs end with anything but violence. Which is sending mixed tones because the whole galaxy has this particular non offensiveness to it that is incredibly off for a game with only humans in it and no intelligent alien life. Humans are dirty and nasty sometimes, you can show it and not condone it.

Notice how I haven't said anything about the spaceships? That's because in the amount of time it takes you to read this it will probably be pretty close to the amount of time you actually played with the space ship in space. Sometimes you fight other ships and it rarely lasts long and is incredibly basic. Most time will be spent building and modifying a spaceship, more than likely so you can take pictures of it to share, because the applications of the spaceships are combat and loading screen.

How doesn't this game have vehicles you can drive around on the surface and instead I have to run and jump everywhere like I didn't just get here in a dang spaceship?? Why do I see rovers all over colonist settlements but I never get access to one? Why can I just jetpack 15 feet away from space raider looking right at me and not alert him but the instant I touch the ground he suddenly sees me? Because this game is bad. The combat is bad. The roleplaying capability is bad. The functionality of the entire product is bad. The majority of the budget went to marketing and up Todd Howard's nose so we are left with this crap. So glad it came with my gpu I would have been disappointed if I actually spent money on this.

Very cringe. Very soulless. Glad I only spent 2 bucks on it.

If you buy this game you will end up waiting half your lifetime for them to update the game, and when it comes it will be disappointing and likely ruin what little charm this game has/had.

More first person shooter games should have firearm malfunctions as a game mechanic. Also, this game is very meta, to a surreal limit.

The three interns that have been left with the mod tools to dink around with this game think the term 'survival sandbox' refers to a game that is maximum 100 players on a server in a world filled with literal sand. There is no real survival in this game, and they want to sell that you can play a bajillion different roles to play but really all you do is fight and swing around on grapple hook/wingsuit, and if you're crazy enough you farm materials and craft walkers and weapons. BORING. Especially boring when you get into the "content" and it's just a janky lag fest of slide show animations and desync.

The developers of this game abandoned it because they don't have the chops to turn it into an actual game with a real audience, so they use terms like 'niche' to hide their ineptitude and inability to make meaningful changes to the game. Which is why after 5 years they've finally started adding stuff they should have been adding in year 1.

This game is literally abandoned. Pretty crazy how this game is still able to be sold on Steam...
