This is a very silly game and there's really no learning curve, but if you need to reset your brain, you've come to the right place. Don't expect too much and you'll be fine.

I love this game, especially in sandbox mode. I get lost in the fantasy of surviving in a jungle and it's surprisingly calming. The only problem I have is the balance. I'm still learning and while writing this, I've played for 57 hours. I'm trying to find the middle ground of not dying before day 5 and the game not being too easy, and sadly you have to turn off certain dangers all together, instead of having less encounters, so learning how to deal with them, I have to try them one by one and that means I have to start all over for each encounter. I think that's just silly.

There are also still bugs in the game, but they don't make it unplayable. Like sometimes an object is unpickable. If it's a stick or a rock, you just move on a find the next one.

I'd like to see some fine tuning, also. It irritates me that the game doesn't tell me if an object can't be broken down, but the durability of your tool still goes down as if it's working. Also some plants and creatures will always be marked as unknown, even after you've done all the experimental tasting of them. This feels like the research is pointless and the best way to find out what they are, is just read the wiki page and keep it open.

Otherwise, the game mechanics are great! I love how you get information on new items to build and the learning curve on that is fairly straight forward. I like that there are maps of the area. Too many games pretend maps make gameplay too easy, when even in real life humans have been mapping their living space ever since we began expanding our borders. I personally prefer to draw my own map, but I'll settle for finding one.

Over all I give this 9/10

I really, really want to like this game. And I kind of do. The mechanics are fun and not too difficult to learn, but there are a few bugs. For instance, when switching to profile or the shop view, when fishing from shore, my character slides a few steps and often gets stuck out of borders. My biggest problem with the game, though, is that key binds can't be changed, which means that the game has to be played with the right side of the keyboard because for some reason the Devs decided to choose keys from that side only for all fishing mechanics that are not mouse bound. Now, I have no idea if the game is still updated, but I hope they fix the key binding problem, if not anything else, because otherwise this is the best fishing game I found, even if the graphics aren't triple A worthy.
Lastly, about the graphics. I've only gotten the Poland map so far, and sadly, fishing on the shore line isn't all that great. You don't have many choices on where to stand with all that high foliage in the way. Your best choice is to rent the boat, but with that, the game doesn't allow you to look behind you when rowing, so you have to stand up to see where you're going and sit back down to move, and so when you want to turn, you're up and down a lot.
All this said, I will keep playing, because, as almost everyone says, this is a chill game. The game doesn't use up computing resources all that much, so I can easily have a streaming service on, on my other monitor, and just turn off my brain after a long day or week (or year). This is one of the few games that won't make me angry for being so simple and I'm ever so glad for spending less than a Euro on this during the Fishing Fest 2025.

For better or for worse, I keep coming back to torture myself with this. If you don't have a team of friends, You're very likely end up having to listen to abuse from people who suck just as bad as you do, or worse, but you dust yourself off and get back on that horse of masochism. There's something satisfying enough in getting those kills, that it triggers a pleasure hormone and that's good enough. I'll say this though. The toxicity isn't as bad as it is in some other MMO's

The puzzles are fun enough and I'm sure the game would be entertaining, but it eats up a full gigabyte of memory, so that if anything at all is running in the background at the same time, the game simply freezes. It's supposed to be a fairly simple point and click. How is it taking up more memory than any FPS I know? O_o

RimWorld takes you away from reality for hours and hours and hours. If you have imagination, you don't even have to win the game to spend days or weeks with your little buddies. And then you find all the mods...

This is a funny little game, suitable for the whole family, but it gets hectic after a while and if you're prone to migraines, you might want to reconsider buying this. There is no pause button and for someone with ADD, that makes it difficult to concentrate on all the things that are happening at the same time. But for a day or two you get a relaxing game experience. With a little bit more work, this too will find it's place in my heart.

What a lovely game this has turned into. Or it always was. I don't know. I just bought this and the 22€ I spent was all worth it. There is travel, there is building, there is battle and all in a vast universe full of beauty, survival and beasts. I couldn't be happier about this game. It's really a shame how Hello games ruined it's reputation in the beginning. If you like these kinds of games, though, just buy it. Buy it on sale if it makes you feel better about yourself, but just go for it. Don't let bad hype take away a good experiance

With the new keyboard fixes, this game, while a little wobbly to control, has improved to playable. I'm very much enjoying the hours I've spent searching and hoarding items, hunting wolves and bunnies and especially the beautiful graphics. A few glitches still here and there, but it seems the developers are active and updates do roll in. I have great hopes for this game.

Not just any point and click, this game has the funniest voice acting, the cutest drawings and enjoyment for hours. A game for the whole family or a nice break from work. I'm absolutely in love <3
