Its a lot more like Left 4 Dead 2 than I thought it would be. If you like L4D2 then you will be very pleased with this one. Its They have a weapons and equipment buying system like Counter Strike which I found interesting. As for the card system, before each level you get to choose one of 5 cards. The effects are like a 5% boost here or there, nothing that would greatly turn the tide of battle. But yeah relying on rng for that is kinda a bummer. A bit pricey for a hack and slash and shoot em up game (This one feels like it should be more liker 39.99USD) but I am satisfied. Graphics engine looks pretty efficient, my 5700 XT isn't really breaking a sweat which is a huge relief.

Some of my good friends got me into VRChat. At first I only joined them in desktop mode. But it was a fun way to hang out with others. I ended up getting a used Rift S and am loving it! There are many worlds to visit so even when I am alone and have time, I just go to different places to explore and relax! Very satisfied, cannot believe this is free.

EDIT: Below is my original review. About a year after the release, the game is completely stable for me. They have come a long way optimizing the game and I am getting over 100fps in the ship and 50-60fps on foot. Carrier interiors make this expansion worth it for me.

I've played Elite Dangerous Horizons since November 2020. Ive got just under 700hrs with the game. (I've got my carrier, been to Beagle Point, done my engineering and all that grindy stuff) I played the Odyssey alpha. The alpha was a buggy mess, almost unplayable. Compared to that, the release version is much better but still buggy. Most of the bugs have revolved around instancing in my experience (seeing other players in game). There are also issues with optimization, frame rate should be much higher than it is. The first person shooter aspect is bland and rather unimpressive. I'm a hardcore fan of Elite Dangerous so I've bought it and now play it. For newcomers, I suggest just going with Elite Dangerous Horizons until either most of the Odyssey bugs are fixed and/or it goes on sale. The learning curve of flying ships is steep so Horizons should definitely keep a new player occupied well.

Just set the game music to 0 and play your own music in the background. Very relaxing!

I played MDK in 1997 when I was 3 years old (no joke, dad was a bench tech for a living and made me play games for education)
I've done the Quakes, Dooms, Half-Lives, Deus Exes, Unreals, Final Fantasies, Metal Gears, Crysises, Dead Spaces, Battlefields, Devil May Cries, Homeworlds, Command and Conquers, you name it.
I've never had more fun than Doom Eternal. I think it might have been the best game I've ever played.
After I beat the game, I wanted to text my friend but my hands were shaking and I was smiling like a maniac. I don't know what to say, because words won't do it justice. Buy it, kill some demons, and save the damn world. It's your duty as a member of the PC Master Race.

Played the original Sins when it first came out years ago, I was in high school back then! Now I'm 26, in another country, and because of the coronavirus, I rediscovered this GEM! It feels great to pound out hours on this game. I give it 11/10! Rebellion is great because it gives you all of the content from the two mini expansions that came out a while ago. Developers are still patching the game as well.
If you have not played Sins but have played similar games like Homeworld or are a Sci-Fi RTS fan in general, I think you'll like it. Unlike a typical RTS that is more combat based, Sins foregoes some of the more in depth combat features in favor of large scale concepts such as national economy, diplomacy, raw material trade, black markets, and even pirates. Even a small game encompassing a dozen or two planets will take hours to finish. If you have the time, and perhaps some ADHD (its great for my ADHD, really. My mind feels completely saturated micromanaging everything... Words cannot describe) it's quite the experience!
Some cool things I noticed changed from the original Sins:
Cloud saving feature is truly nifty. Can continue games from my desktop and on the go with my laptop!
Mini expansion content from Diplomacy and Entrenchment are included
Some noted graphics improvements

Give it a shot especially if you're locked down! As an RTS fan, this game provides quite a bit of variety. For other combat-based RTS, you can only play skirmish and multiplayer for so long before it gets boring imo.
