My girlfriend said I play too much Civ, so I showed her how to play, and now I no longer own a PC.

I'm ashamed to admit that I have never played through these before. I played through ME1 voraciously and am now currently in the middle of ME2.

If you haven't played, you won't regret it. Buy it on sale or reap the benefits of EA Play.

If you have before, what are you waiting for? The textures are updated and it's well-optimized, plus there's a big modding community for LE already.

BF 2042 is karma for how badly we talked about this. It's pretty much solid. Watch for the occasional hacker but they probably won't ruin your experience. Highly recommended over Battlefield Portal

I hesitantly recommend this game. 6 months later, it finally feels (a little) like Battlefield. Still a little upset about the removal of the four class system, but specialists when used correctly can make for some fun gameplay. I just honestly wish they were restricted to specific weapon classes for more play style diversity.

Hit reg is mostly fixed, TTK is still awful compared to other games but slowly being reworked I think.

Biggest complaints are as follows:

-Lack of content (only conquest and breakthrough are available through the main game, any other game modes you have to play Portal for, only a handful of maps currently available)
-Snipers and Sidearms are severely underpowered, so you MUST have impeccable aim with both
-No discernible way to lean/peek from cover. Also no crouch-running like in BFV. Both of these force a run & gun play style.
-VERY few guns with long periods of grinding between unlocks.

Favorite things are as follows:
-LOVE customizing my gun on the fly. It's really interesting being able to modify the attachments for different engagements without having to redeploy/die.
-Although I mentioned how underpowered the snipers are, sniping is extremely smooth and rewarding
-The few maps in the game are actually REALLY good. Especially the new one. Portal allows you to revisit fan-favorites of the past (although it'd be nice to see more BF4/Hardline maps added)
-Vehicles are finally decently balanced! Now that hovercraft that used to be more powerful than a tank actually serves its purpose as a light transport vehicle!

I highly recommend this game, especially playing it on the hardest difficulty. You'll want to catch 2 in the skull yourself if you do it, but it's such a rewarding playthrough.

A couple bugs, but nothing to write home about. You'll need to enable fullscreen borderless if you play on a monitor higher than 60hz, else the game will lock itself at 60fps. Hopefully you don't have the same issues I had where it wouldn't fill the screen or eliminate your taskbar. There's also a slight audio bug with the dialogue and radio, but it's not game breaking.

It does not feel like a 20 year old game.

Also, f%*k the race mission. Especially if you're an idiot like me who chose to select "manual" for driving controls.

I like to compare this game to Saints Row IV, because in all honesty, from the outside looking in it's an incredible game. Beautiful graphics, goofy mechanics, fun progression, a decent array of weapons and armor with a crafting system that can alter all of these almost completely. Not to mention the settlement building and the economy system that can be set up if you spend enough time with it.

But like all series games, there's always a couple that are a little lackluster. I said this was a good game. I did not say this was a good Fallout game. After acquiring the rights to Fallout from Black Isle, Bethesda created Fallout 3, which is dated and primitive by today's standards but still incredible. With the assistance of Obsidian entertainment, formerly known as Black Isle, they followed up with Fallout New Vegas - often regarded as the best Fallout game to ever drop. I can get behind that statement.

While Fallout 4 is great, it lacks some of the classic qualities that make a Fallout game incredible. For instance, there's no Karma system (meaning your actions don't really have many consequences, you could execute an innocent civilian and you might get shot at. Might...) Unlike any other Fallout game, there's few settlements that add value to the game. In New Vegas, you sometimes had to complete quests to gain the satisfaction (or disdain) of settlers in their communities. The storyline is great but doesn't have much replay value as there are only so many ways to finish the game and which faction you choose doesn't come with any real consequences or any real advantages. Previous games also featured a dialogue skill/stat check, where if you didn't invest enough points into a specific skill when speaking to an NPC, you cannot pass the check. Some of these checks depended on Science skill, Guns, Explosives, and even carry weight.

What Fallout 4 does bring to the table is a gorgeous (and fully voiced!) dialogue system. Although the speech checks are gone, this dialogue system is reminiscent of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. The gunplay is fun but ammo is scarce and it takes entirely too many shots to kill someone. Especially when headshots aren't even one-shot. Thankfully, Bethesda is very good to their modding community and there are plenty of mods out there to alter the gunplay and bullet physics.

You can romance your followers, and even gain perks from reaching full affinity with them, with the added bonus of XP boosters every time you sleep with them.

The DLC's are fairly fun, adding plenty of extra gameplay and new items to toy with. Far Harbor is amazing, Automatrons allows for robot building, and Nuka-World lets you use an AK-47 (but that's about the only reason to play it).

All-in-all, if you're a Fallout fan, you probably will see this game's flaws very early. If you're new to Fallout, please ignore what I've said and get this game. It's actually worth playing through and is very fun. However, do me a favor and play through Fallout New Vegas when you're given the chance, only after you've finished Fallout 4.

This is how your time playing a Bethesda game is spent:
60% mods, 25% bugs, 5% crashing to the desktop, and 10% actual gameplay

You'll love it.
