Launched with a ton of technical issues that make it difficult to enjoy the good things in the game. Wait till they fix it. if they ever do.

I waited for them to fix the performance issues so this isn't about that.

So they have this melee tutorial mission that they let you die in. If you die during it, you have to restart the entire thing from the start.
Its a pre-canned sequence with little choice or interaction, and they added slow mo to it...so it takes forever to get to the fun part. I didn't even get enough time to learn WHY I am dying before I get slapped with a massive death punishment.

If they put such low effort to the intro /on boarding, god only knows what else they dropped the ball on.

No one needs to be a game dev to understand How this is extremely un fun, frustrating, and off-putting this is.

I don't know what to say about Ancestors...most of the parts of this game are not great to interact with, but somehow the whole of it is enjoyable ?

Honestly I think you have to be a very specific kind of person... a person like me, to enjoy this game. Ancestors is deeply grindy, almost every aspect of each mechanic requires too much repetition to progress. Ancestors is pretty simple, but I think that might be its strength.

Long term satisfaction is the name of the game here. Getting to the end and seeing (if you grinded enough)your ape clan walking on two legs was pretty exciting. There's a pretty extensive upgrade tree that you build points for by just doing anything in the game or by lucking out on mutations from new baby apes. It will keep you busy, especially if you're trying to get bipedalism early on.

The minute to minute game play of Ancestors is like exercising; I hate it, but I understand that i have to do it, to get my little ape legs strong enough to run two feet. Its repetitive as heck. And yet I feel good after I've done it.

Now, despite what I just said, the games not awful... The thing that saves it is that it's simple. so simple that I would say its honed in to exactly what it wants to be and does it fantastically. Another factor Ancestors has going for it, is its unconventional UI and control scheme. In any other game it would be a disaster but once you get a bit into this, its clear why they chose this way.

Lastly, I'd say the map, level designs, and environments are another feature that breaks the monotony effectively.
The play space in this game is one gigantic open world, or at least they make it feel that way. It lets you start in the jungle tree tops and march on to the grasslands of the savanna, with a very natural progression between them. Looking back on it now...if the map wasn't so massive it wouldn't be so grindy.

Episode 4 of Life is Strange 2 is by far the weakest narrative and set of "choices" in any of the games in the Life is strange franchise.

I just want to say the the Antagonist in this episode is a laughably cartoonish character. In a world they built that is accustomed to cartoon "people".

This entire episode plays like a C plot side story, and feels like a jarring out of place detour on the road trip of these brothers.

The choices i was allowed to make in episode 4 did not seem to have any affect on the outcome of even minor happenings, and especially the the big moments.

The writers seemed to want to inject a character in here that has been teased throughout the game since episode 1. They don't do enough to explain why they are there all of the sudden, not through dialog or actions, or side content.

This game delivers what you want from its concept, and exicutes its very well on most fronts.

Just going around beating the hell out of gigantic beasts, is the core, and thats what you will grind on in the end game. That combat is complex enough to not get boring after hours of playing, and every weapon is drasticaly different that you kind of have to soft restart your skill in a way.

Play with friends or matchmake online this makes the game better in everyway.

The downsides to this game are the left over horrible design decisions that have been with the series forever, inexplicably put into the game. Actually connecting to a friend or other play is a huge hassle to get started. Item managment in the inventory is just bizzare...you learn to work with it but its ridiculous.

The first few minutes of the game are suprisingly high production value, but quickly i learned what this games loop is.

The game forces you to backtrack contantly with no map, minimap, or any other indicator other than an unhelpful vague waypoint. Right out of the gate, the first missions are finding a locked door that you have to unlock by going back to were you started, and thats not the last time you will revisit the same place, for nothing more than holding the interact button on a computer.

Repeat this a dozen more times and you'll have the just of the beging of the game. This is only from the short time i played it. I cannot bare playing it any longer

The pacing and level design are some of the worst i have ever seen, the levels are just plain incoherent; mazes and loop arounds

The shooting is equally as weak as the rest of the game, each weapon has no weight to it, feels like shooting a nerf rifle. This in combination of the aliens dying very unsatisfyingly makes the combat unintersting.

Unique among managment games for its aesthetics and theme, there is entertaining moments in Punch Club. But i found there to be a ♥♥♥♥ ton of padding to this game. It felt like 80% of the game was just waiting for stuff to happen. Perhaps this is just what turn based games are like, But i dislike this.

The sense of progression is what the game does right. you're always getting feedback on screen about the improvents your dude is making and it feels pretty satisfying.

The fighting mechanic to me is the worst part of this game. it slow, tedious, and just barely qualifies as interactive.

If you like managment type games like game dev story and you can find this under 5$ its worth picking up.

Prison Architect is the type of Managment Sim that doesnt ditch the fun bits to add needless simulation. There is a huge amount of veriety and depth to the Inmates and AI in general, What they can get themsevles into and their interations with eachother, their envirnoment, and the staff is very entertaining to watch.

Building you prison is fuild, intuitive, and satisfying. Prison Architect lacks in customisation, there's about 3 or 4 choices of floors you can make, but ever other aspect of building materials are very cookie cutter. Late game this can kill the experience, as the thing you want to do when yo finally can afford ♥♥♥♥ is pimp your prison, but you cant.

There is fun new game plus sort of thing, were you can sell the prison your working on for profit so you can build your next prison with more funds. This kept me playing for a long time and gives a great sense of progression.

The other extra modes in the game are nice, and a fun perspective change, being a prisoner and trying to escape if a refresher from being the architect, but this modes lacks depth or staying power.

Grim dawn is the Best Diablo-like since Diablo 2. Admittedly the first few missions its hard to see what it is they are going for with this one, but a little bit of patience you soon see the incredible depth to combat this game has.

Hand crafted environments and many different biomes to explore. this game offers plenty of replayability in new game plus options, aswell as different types of dungeons. Theres more content in this game than you will know what to do with.

Unlike other modern ARPGs Grim Dawn has an atmosphere the same kind Diablo 2 had, its got a mood to it. to me thats the missing ingredient to these games latley.
