A fun, fast, and solid 6DOF shooter. The controls are flawless, the levels sharp, and your weapons and enemies both deliver a punch. The sound is fantastic as well, with a decent soundtrack and SFX that both sound satisfying while harkening back to the original. Lighting is excellent; shadows will have you cautiously checking out blind corners or making you wonder what's behind you. This *is* Descent, remade for the moden era, and it's fantastically polished at that. If there is one flaw in this game, is might be that it's *too* much like Descent, right down to the elements of it's level design and enemy placement. It's perfect in execution, and its as if the decades between Descent II and Overload wern't there. But it's 2018 now, and while it feels wonderful to play Descent again, it also reminds me of how far the art has progressed since.

Edit 11/21/2018 - It's encouraging to see just how active the community is around this game and how well it's being supported post-launch given it's seemingly "sleeper" status. If you haven't given this a spin yet, do so.
