Rogue-like perfected. Not only the best looking, but has a ton of quality of life options.

It'd be nice to have more detail in how effects stack or what they apply to. You'll have to dig through a lot of discussions to clarify that.

+Lots of fun for a simple game
-Eventually, gets too easy
-Needs to allow for binding custom keys
-status effects and buffs aren't explained in game, so you'll have to read a lot of forums to optimize builds

Challenging bosses, decent story, fun weapons and world design. Camera can be a bit annoying, if I remember correctly.

One of the top 5 single player games I've played. Great story, mechanics, music, challenge. Co-op is also a ton of fun and probably the best story co-op I've seen. Still looks amazing in 2019 at max quality.

Liked it. Not as fun or as epic as Borderlands 2 but the second half is a lot of fun. he innovative characters add a lot. The low gravity & slams actually open up a lot of style and variety in the combat, not to mention it lets you jet around a lot faster. Dialogue was great as well.

Dishonored was a total surprise. The trailers didn't grab me but I picked it up on sale for some reason and loved it. Bulletpoints:

+gameplay is exceptionally fluid on the Unreal engine. FPS and movement are so good you feel unstoppable. I *wish* every FPS felt this good.
+variety of playstyles to solve each level: from non-lethal stealth to full on massacre
+the period and themes are really fun and well done
+menus and entire UI are snappy and flawless
+music, ambience, level design all at the top end
+levels were very distinct and presented unique challenges and personalities
+characters and voice talent are 100%
+story and villians are engaging
+your behavior affects the storyline and character interactions

=I'd love to have options to decrease objective hinting but you'd probably need to adapt the objectives, dialogue, etc. to accomodate that
=you end up running around, chaining together objectives like most/all single player stories
=you'll be doing a lot of spinning in CQB - large mousepads help if that's your tool

-the AI is good but not great. It's a common issue but Dishonored's AI is vastly superior to CoD, to put it in context.
-difficult is not that difficult. It's great to focus on the story without having to repeat a section 50x but I beat it on the hardest level on the first playthrough without much effort. You can get mobbed by enemies and overwhelmed but even on the hardest level, they still frequently have their backs to you while patrolling, for example. Perhaps changing some of this would make the stealth options nearly impossible.
-it needs a larger variety of baddies. This was not at any point annoying but it limited the breadth of the game
-your skill tree hits about 70% by the end of the game, so there are probably skills you haven't even tried by the time you're done

I unexpectedly loved the period and story and only wish it was two or three times longer. Whereas I didn't enjoy Bioshock, the vibe here was really, really fun. Okay, I won't oversell it. It's okay. You find bits of HL2, Bioshock, Hitman, Assassin's Creed, and others all mixed in but without coming off like a Hyundai. I'm very impressed and looking forward to 2 and 3.

Works great! On a wired connection, I notice occasional quality scaling on fast, 3rd person shooters, but no sense of slowdown in controls or motion, very possibly due to background Windows apps, network hardware, or traffic.

It's small, sleek, has bluetooth and USB. Very happy with it.

What the store page doesn't mention is that this game *requires* third-party DRM (Uplay) and that you create a Uplay account. They should also have mentioned that you'll likely be required to spend your time troubleshooting Uplay errors as a warm up to playing the game you paid for.

@ubisoft, we're paying you already for the content, please don't take the extra steps of screwing us out of as much money / information / freedom of choice as possible.

Amazing game! Likely to frustrate you frequently but the complex combat system and first class maps will keep you coming back ... if you like skill-based games. The online additions to the single player game are unlike anything I've seen, and give a lot of headroom for replayability. It's challenging, unforgiving, and incredibly deep.

NOTE: the PC port was half-assed and is basically non-functional with keyboard + mouse, and the resolution is stuck at 1280x720 at 30fps UNLESS you spend 30-60 minutes and install the DSFIX and DSMfix community mods. Personally, I bought the game on sale and am donating the difference to the community devs who got it working. There are other mods but those two are what I needed to play this game. If those are not available for download when you're about to buy this game, I would not recommend it unless you want to use an xbox 360 controller and accept 720p.

ALSO, it requires Windows Live Gaming (aka GFWL or WTFdoIneedMOREdrm?) to be signed in and online or it will not save your game!! That alone is nearly unforgivable for a single player game but there's more. In my experience, GFWL will not work if you install it through dark souls + steam. Uninstall that version, download directly from xbox.com, sign in, and then run dark souls.

It's hard to recommend this with the downfalls but if you can put the time in to get it running correctly and it's worth it.
