I bought this game not long after release and although buggy, it was very fun and had an OK co op side to it. The developers seemed attentive and were working on fixes and even some DLC.

Then came the change of the "Backpack" layout. It was originally a drag and drop system that was second nature to any PC user. It was changed for a clunky scroll system that is ONLY suitable to console users or controller users. Despite calls from the entire PC community (the ones that helped get this game off the ground financially) to roll back to the previous version or even just grant a choice of setup, the developers have ignored this and shown that they no longer care about the PC user market. They even seem to be trolling PC users by posting there most recent "letter from the developer (16/10/2020)" to Steam, but to only include console updates.

Overall this WAS a fun game but I wouldn't waste my money on it. Not when the developers are so blatantly ignoring their core base of consumers.

An excellent game all around. Love the single player campaign. Love the multiplayer. It's great.

I love(d) this game. It was so much fun. Like GTA but as a pirate.

However after having to do a hard reinstall of windows 10 (not related to the game) I lost all my savegame files. That's 34 hours of gameplay out the window. It's probably my fault for not saving additional files when I could but you expect game progress to be cloud stored these days and after talking to Uplay tech support I was told "Regretfully, there is no cloud save functionality in AC4."

For me this is unacceptable and as a result I won't be starting again for a while.

Outstanding update to an already great game. Definitely worth buying.

Although this game CAN be fun, overall it's pretty bad. The AI cheats constantly. Any number you have won't be rolled as opposed to the computer seemingly always getting their numbers. Then there is the fact that the AI gangs up on you. I had one game where the AI rolled three 7 sevens consecutively decimating my hands and every time dropping the robber on my tiles. I wouldn't recommend it.

Simply stunning. A beautiful game that captures the essence of mental illness so well. I would pay a lot of money for a good sequel to this game.
