I'm a simple man. I back a game, I give a positive review.

I honestly suck at this kind of games, but I can say each character is extremely unique in play style, so the small roster should be no issue. The soundtrack is a banger too.

I've only played a very small amount of hours but I knew what I needed to look at in this game.

This is a fantastic remake of AoE2!

Graphics and artistic style have been updated and the whole game looks very pretty and consistent.
It's full of very welcome QoL updates making it a much better experience to both old and new players, which includes a new "Art of War" section that teaches players how to pull off key strategies such as quick Castle age or rush attacks.
The soundtrack has been remade too, although how appreciated this change is will be up to each player.
The amount of content is staggering, they took everything that was ever released for the HD edition and reworked it too, so now the whole game is an enormous, well looking compilation that is nicely put together all the way to the campaign menus.
These campaigns have had their fair share of rework too, some maps have been reworked even from their HD release, and even original scenarios from AoK have been edited to take advantage of what was made available in later expansions, such as snow where fitting, and additional tiles and objects that are also available in the Editor for more complex and better looking maps.

I was never much of a MP player and thus haven't tried going into MP matches, so I cannot give my review of that aspect, but you can link your XBL account and play together with your Gamepass friends, and if you are like me and like unlocking achievements, you can also get gamerscore. New achievements have been added for specific challenges in certain maps, too.
Since the game runs on much better looking assets, load times are longer, but that's the expected price to pay on an update of this level.

As I said, although I haven't played much yet, I already fell like I got my money's worth in this game, it's such a different but familiar experience that I can certainly say an excellent work was put here. Updates are being released so far, and a bunch of bugs have already been addressed since release, which can be seen in how this game went from 70%'s to its current 90% positive reviews in such a short time.

This game is fantastic, this right here is how you bring back a classic franchise to modern times. It's fast paced, has excelent gunplay, a surprisingly good storyline in between the insane bloodbaths, and incredible graphics (AMD card? Use Vulkan renderer, performance improvement will blow your mind, tho it will cause the game to take a while to start up for some reason). There's an RPG-like upgrade system similar to the one in Wolfenstein TNO with some added twists, so you can mix things up as you progress. Mod your weapons, upgrade them, master them, upgrade your armor, earn runes to obtain useful abilites and become the ultimate DOOM Slayer.

On top of it, the game includes Snapmap, a mode where you can build your own maps from a wide array of preset assets, including logic entities, so you can build entire puzzles if you wish. Snapmap has a really well designed system around it to make it easy to play, rate, share, recommend, etc. The community has built some very good maps, so this one is well worth mentioning.

The campaign has an Arcade mode, there's an online scoreboard to try and be the best at clearing the levels with a given set of maxed weapons and runes.

The multiplayer is okay, I suppose... it was initially the reason why people were expecting a Halo clone out of this, so there's that. Some people might enjoy it, but it's not my cup of tea. Not including it in my final take of the game, since I didn't really buy it for that anyway.

Score:
9000 brutally torn demon limbs and pieces/10

This is THE Alien game you have to play if you are a fan of the franchise. Incredibly loyal design and atmosphere on top of being one of the best horror-survival games you can play nowadays.

I wrote a long review 2 years ago for this game, and it slowly became irrelevant as the game kept being updated and mechanics changed. I'll keep it short this time.

-The grind is real on this game, so be aware of that
-You have to farm stuff, a lot
-You collect and rank stuff to rank up your account so you can get access to even more stuff later on
-The devs are great people, doing devstreams often to let people know what is planned
-The community is really nice, a nice change from other games
-There's a lot of systems on this game, if you get lost you can find a ton of guides on YouTube, help on Reddit, or you can check the Wiki
-You can solo on this game. Alternatively look for a clan on the recruiting channel or invite your friends for much more fun.
-Platinum is the premium currency you can buy with real money, you can get it by selling people stuff they want, or wait for a daily-login platinum discount to land on your screen
-In the long term, you can optimize farming and other things with the appropriate set of warframes, weapons, etc. It's a matter of getting to know the game.

Those are the main points for me, game is awesome!
