you are probably thinking about buying The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and let me tell you that you do not make a mistake by buying this game and trying it out. Even tho the graphics arent up to date, it is gameplay-wise a masterpiece

Hello my dear readers,

TL;DR: This review heavily recommends you playing this game.

Longer version:

I played this game a couple of hours. It's hella fun and even the game files are easily modified to get some more factions and whatnot. The graphics are a little bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but that's not the whole game, right?
So there are some things you think you need to worry about, but you actually don't need to:

1. You think it's hard.
It's very beginner friendly. Actually too beginner friendly. The advisor starts to annoy you after a couple of hours playtime.
2. Your computer can't run it.
C'mon, what is your PC? Wooden?
3. You might tilt after lost battles.
You can always use quicksave.

In the following I will elaborate a bit more about specific areas:

Graphics: ♥♥♥♥, just as I said. But as a consequence makes it playable for almost everyone. Taking the release date into consideration, I'll give it a solid 6/10 (w/out release date 3/10)

Gameplay: It's an open world strategy game. Except for when you play roman factions, no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ what you're doing. Every campain is unique, every move is new, every battle is nowhere near a duplicate. Even if you are playing the historic battles, there are multiple ways to beat them. I'd say 10/10, I can't name any flaws whatsoever.

Music: The music is a kind of dorian-pythagorean-archaic style, which fits the game. Personally I don't really like this kind of music, but if you are familiar with music notation, history of scales and history of music in general, then you appreciate the music more. During the battles, the music changes to a mix of contemporary styles and this archaic style. In my opinion it really fits the mood of the game all the time. I could give it a 10, but I personally don't like it that much, so I'll give it an 8/10.

Genre: This game and its ancestors have defined the real time strategy/round based strategy hybrid genre. RTW is maybe the most iconic game, because it is so popular amongst all sorts of players: casual to hardcore. Genres listed describe it perfectly: 10/10.

Now, to some extent, we must go and face the truth: This game has its flaws. It has transcended numbers in quantifying how many bugs this has. Nevertheless This game has always kept me awake at night and I still like it.

Overall (averages): 8.5/10


PS.: I only have 80 hours, because I bought it through steam after I bought the CD, but I lost it (you need to have it in your drive). I would've had over 400 hours, no exaggeration.
