Easily one of the most interesting and just simply fun to play games that I have come across this year - it really is as simple as that. Noita introduces so many unique concepts that I have never seen before in games (much less indie titles) that are so fun to play around with and explore the full of extent of. The possibilities for fun are seemingly endless at a glance. The game is so full of secrets and hidden mechanics that I still have yet to even scratch the surface of. The physics engine is amazing and makes for many pretty spectacles, the combat is engaging, the spell customization is amazing...I really could go on for a while about individual things that make this game so unique. It is currently in Early Access and honestly I cannot wait for the full release.

With a boring story featuring a main character with no personality at all, a D-tier soundtrack, characters that don't act or talk like humans do, terrible 'floating car' style driving, terrible performance, constant graphic pop-in, and much more - this game is one of the most doo-doo open world messes I have played in a very long time. Featuring the certainly 'tried and true' Ubisoft Montreal™ awful system of Assassin's Creed clones with a fresh coat of paint, this game has nothing to it. It is ugly, a slog to play, broken in many areas, features terribly mapped controls, the list goes on. It is clearly a lazy console port. It isn't ever remotely explained why my character needs to help random people from getting robbed, why I need to invade a construction site full of gang members and kill them all -- there is literally no explanation for any of the boring side content. The game contains far too many car chases - nearly every story mission ends in one - and no way to stop enemy vehicles other than ramming them 40 times, since you can't shoot your gun while in a vehicle (but enemies can!). In my eyes there is nothing that redeems this game, and I can hardly bring myself to complete it, all the while listening to the same 5 songs the entire grind through.

EDIT: I came back to this review after beating it to say that this game is trash and just terrible in nearly every aspect imaginable. No polish, just feels unfinished in nearly every aspect and the story is so boring and mind-numbing that it hurts to even listen try to follow along. This game is a wholehearted disaster from start to finish.

A classic coin-op that laid down the foundation for games that would come after it. It is simple, cartoonishly hilarious, and secretly requires a high amount of actual technical skill to play well.

Hands down the best management simulator I have ever played, especially in endless mode. This game makes you feel powerful, and it has a lot of aspects that are incredibly well executed and should probably serve as inspiration to other games of its' genre. The feeling of raising gladiators to super-powerful beasts only to get crushed in the arena is unique and not really something I've felt before playing a game like this. It is very unforgiving and it takes a rather required degree of skill to raise an army of sufficient gladiators to beat the final endgame challenge. Overall it is extremely clever and one of my favorite games that I have recently played, despite not playing many games of this genre. Play endless mode.

A classic game for sure at this point, the campaign as well as the multiplayer still hold up to this day. Comprised of the classic Call of Duty formula that inspired games for generations to come, I can't count the amount of hours that I spilled into this game in my teen years. Simply put, it is still a LOT of fun.

My review of this game only concerns the campaign, seeing as the multiplayer is long dead -- with that said, it is pretty amazing. The graphics of this game were definitely well ahead of their time and it really shows. Some of the screenshots I have taken of this game look like they were taken right out of a movie scene. The campaign introduces a lot of new mechanics as well as set pieces that I would argue are unlike any other Call of Duty game that I have played. It certainly is one of the most action-y Call of Duty campaigns that I've ever played, even though it might be the easiest to beat on Veteran difficulty as of yet. All in all I enjoyed it and it still holds up so many years after release.

Besiege is honestly one of the most interesting indie games that I have ever played. The mechanics of building are incredibly complex (and honestly beyond my own understanding), and will provide hours of challenge just to learn how to utilize properly. The game has also has a nice bit of world-building, and the levels are often designed well and fit together thematically. It is a lot of fun destroying a huge wall with a catapult that you built, and the game is very rewarding for creativity.

An incredibly solid winter sports game and probably the best open-world racing game of its' style out right now. This game is just fun as hell and I love playing it. It is full of super difficult-yet-fun challenges and there is so much content to do, that at nearly 30 hours into the game I'm not even a third done with all of the challenges yet. This game is packed full of content, and the DLCs are pretty fleshed out as well. The mechanics and controls are extremely tight, and the jump/trick system is very thought out and well made. In my opinion, this game captures the fun aspects of winter sports extremely well and has an incredible amount of depth not only in the gameplay, but in pretty much every aspect. I can't believe this is an Ubisoft title.

I had trouble deciding whether to recommend this, but ultimately I don't. This game starts out very slowly, presents itself with nothing remarkable throughout, and is confusing from start to finish -- for better or worse. To put it simply, this game stands out in no ways beyond the story. The gameplay draws the worst of elements from every badly-done 3rd person shooter of the past 20 years. The guns feel like pea shooters, there is constant grenade spam, the controls are god awful, and perhaps the worst part is the TERRIBLE sticky cover system which caused many frustrating deaths. The audio design is terrible as well, with the soundtrack being terribly mixed, and the cutscenes being 400% louder than the rest of the game.

I don't want to spoil anything about the story, but it certainly has some amount of appeal. The overall synopsis is very confusing until the ending, but I'm not sure if the story being even remotely good could save this awful slog of a game, which would be better off as a book.

The multiplayer is garbage and not even worth an afterthought.

Not a good game, that's really how you can summarize this one. The game starts out promising but within the first hour the level design, the soundtrack (which consists of 1 or 2 repetitive songs), the ugly tumblr art, and the constant SJW nonsense made me want to quit, and makes me wonder how I even 100% this game. This game is full of hamfisted political crap that is completely unnessecary and really adds nothing to the story. The controls are terribly mapped, can't be remapped, and are unresponsive like 50% of the time. On top of this they sell a terrible $5 soundtrack which is almost certainly worthless.
