Star Racer hits that sweet spot between retro arcade racing and modern flair. The mix of high-speed road drifting and mid-air boosting feels incredible—like F-Zero meets Star Fox with a dash of burnout chaos. I love the Event Races especially; dodging hazards or breaking crates mid-race keeps things fresh.

The track editor is a huge win. I made a lava gauntlet I’m absurdly proud of, and the Steam Workshop is already filling up with wild community tracks.

That said, some tracks (like Holographic Highway) hit my framerate hard, and the AI can bug out now and then. Customization in solo races feels limited too—would love more control over opponents.

But overall? It’s fast, creative fun with tons of replay value. If you like combat racers or just want something different, this one’s worth it.

Lots of content, so many skill trees and perks to choose makes your character feel really unique, very colorful attacks, plot makes sense. I looked for a "new" game like this when I didn't want to support a big creator that will not be named, and Im glad I found it. Every once in a while I come back and play for a few hours and its just as fun to just jump in and out and murder flocks of mobs as it is to complete the whole plot.

Unable to find an opponent after 10 minutes of searching. No cancel button, so I had to force quit.

After actually getting to play for a couple of hours, my end result is that this is not very fun. I didn't experience all of the bugs that everyone else mentioned, but I did have a couple of crashes.

The main reason I can't recommend it is the convoluted systems outside of combat. Combat itself is great, fun and engaging. However, the investments, conversations, housing, markets, etc. left me with much to be desired. I wasn't able to figure out Node Management or how to actually get my home working after purchaing a house. Might have just been my laziness, but it still wasn't fun to me.

Not worth $60. Got a refund. Might purchase it again when it falls under the $20 price tag and they make the game deeper. Don't buy it yet.

Early Access Review
The game isn't very deep, and a lot of the time your work orders get ignored. A least half of the buildings I told them to construct are still unfinished despite having well over enough resources available. You can't edit a building once it's told to be constructed, unless you want to remove it entirely, and even that task gets ignored by workers.

I would only recommend this game after the developer fixes a lot of the core issues with building.
