Bring fresh filling.
Simplifiing basic extraction shooter mechanics (weapons variations/tetris/economy) and choosing 3rd person get pretty good result.
Incredible sound and physics with really good AI (PvE is hard). Easy to learn and hard to master movement and shoot mechanics.
If you looking for new experience in multiplayer game you need to check this game. If you looking only PvE, it will be painful.

I played Silent Hill 2 when it was release and i can confirm that this game is a very good remake. It has atmoshpere of original and this is the most essential thing in Silent Hill games for me.
Plus this game reworked some of the mechanincs and for sure make game much more comfortable and interesting.
Graphics in this game is amazing but costs framerate. I played on epic settings 1440p with FSR on Quality and mode from Nexus (Silent Optimizer) that buff fps and i get 80-100 fps (7800x3d, 7900 GRE), so for me it wasnt an issue but for the most folks it will be frustraing. If you didnt know this perfmonace issue caused by the variant of raytracing technology (forgot the name) that can't be turn off. In the other hand default lightning in game is wild and adding to atomsphere so can't judge developers for this choice. And other problem is stutters while UE5 loading assets in background for new locations. Not very often but a little bit annoying.
And i can say that game become longer and it's not feel as good thing. I was a little bit tired at the end trying get to the finish.
But overall really solid Silent Hill. If you want dive in this game series this is the best choice.
And waiting for Silent Hill 3 Remake now! SH3 for me is the best game in the series.

Game seems fine but for some reason i get frame times up to 110 ms (average 50ms) so its feel like little constant stuttering. And game locked at 60 fps on 7800X3D and 7900 GRE. Game graphic setting change nothing so i think its about Denuvo because i playing Cyberpunk 2077 with average 110 fps (1440, all max, ray-traycing off) and frame time 25 ms top.

It's a shame, i really love this game. But for now i will refund and wait at least when denuvo will be removed (so probably never) while trying modern fixes for the original version.

It's feel like mix of Silent Storm and modern X-Com with the face of JA2.

Quake II Remastered is sick. This update brings a lot of improvements and new content while keeping the atmosphere and gameplay intact.

Spent hundred of hours when i was a child and in university and still remember how i lost Trevor when tried to kill Deidranna at the end of my first run. Game is really deep it terms of how you can play it and you have only one goal: kill Deidranna. How, when, where, with who and what weapons using - it's your choice. It has a history, story, characters, laptop idea executed the best way possible, different guns, different strategies, decent amount of side quests that make sense in this world, music thats never become boring. Me and my friend found 3 ways to kill Deidranna without Internet help, discovered that you can send flowers to Deidranna and get another slap for Elliot. It was constant findings of something new on you own. How we was thrilled when discovered mechanic that allow to steal guns from enemies. It's changed early strategy in fights for some runs for sure. And i can keep going and going, but better if you tried it for yourself. And if you will like it you will can dive in the wolrd of community mods that will provide you with tons of new weapons, mechanic and maps.
Graphic still looking decent, especially in today indi game world, and gameplay feels not really aged (feels better than X Com style for turn based games for me). This game needs a decent remake with mod support and map editor.
P.S. Today you can run game without big issues with Jagged Alliance 2 Stracciatella project. Which i did and this is why review is happening after 1 week in this beautiful game (sadly, if you using Stracciatella, Steam will not count time in game).

This game becomes really addictive if you got all the DLC. It's add a lot of options for Empires, quests and events that really making interesting impact on every game in different way. If you fan of this genre this game worthwhile to try.
And only if you fan of this genre and enjoying ovewhelming freedom of this game (create you Empire from the scratch and... Do what you want to do) you can forgive some unbalance mechanics (but it's fun to play!), some interface struggle (hello to menu on the right after 400 years in game and endless messages, ha ha), bugs (hello to big planet on my galaxy screen and problem with try to pick 200 separated corvettes in the system!) and freezes near end of the game (and it's okay because of how much going on...). This game not perfect.
If you can adjust to this you will enjoy game where you will spend hours and hours doing some silly thing like taking beatiful screenshots of how you convert Ancient race with Divine Enforcer while enjoying coffee at 2 am. At the same time my fleets attacking alliance of synthetics and hive mindeds on another end of Galaxy... Damn, i'm becoming Ziltoid!
So be carefull with this game.
P.S. I'm strongly advice to understand basics of the game and try Ironman. This mode making game more deep and complicated while events make more drama and somehow mess up with you plans.
P.P.S. And if you already know game mechanics you understand, that this synthetics and hive mindeds alliance in trouble...
