This is the game I love. This is the game I hate. When I talk about it, I say "this game plays like trash and feels like trash, but ever since 2015, this is the only survival MMO I want to play". Mechanically this game is both vast and deep as an ocean. And for anyone curious, I only have 3 weeks, 6 days, 14 hours, 17 minutes, 12 seconds of accumulated playing time, which is nothing, yet I keep coming back for almost a decade.

People who whine about PVP - it won't happen in first several days of playing(due to certain skill limitations), and you have a higher chance of dying from an animal or swimming, than from another player in first several weeks, while in several months you'll be lucky to meet a player at all, since everyone starts living on their bases and never leaving them.

I was griefed on my 3rd hour today - just when I placed my claim to dry - and guess what? - of course I was pissed and annoyed. Also, guess what, when this mouth-breather was leaving with his alt, I saw the direction they were TP'ing towards. Took me 2 mins to find a cave with claim placed at the entrance(an exploit allowed by developers this world and patched many worlds ago). Took me 5 kuksa drinks to dismantle it, 1 "Push" action(cuz that dull tool decided to block the entrance with alts) and about 10 mins of my life of destroying everything that no so bright player had taken from me and crafted himself. Needless to say, he logged out with all his alts. I checked on him an hour ago - 1 of his alts was dead in the water and another one was online and then probably found a different place to settle.

The moral of this story: just like in any MMO, you'll have great players interactions. Just like in any MMO, you will have some people who outrun smart thoughts that are chasing them, and yet you have all power to yourself to do with it exactly what you want. In 10 years, this was the first time I ever griefed anyone - and it was done in response to a toxic behavior. I have always been a good, friendly and helpful neighbor, but I also want my neighbors to be the same.

Please, give this game a fair chance - it deserves it - even tho I know this game is not for everyone, and I'd say for selected few. However, the majority of the veteran community is glad and happy to help new players both in-game and on the forums(steam and official) - just reach out.
