The most accessible and entertaining fighting game I've ever seen. Four primary characters (many more with mods) with unique move sets and a variety of viable play styles per match up. I'm sure the community will quickly develop some metas but at first glance the devs absolutely nailed the balancing.

Multiplayer is current 32 player lobbies where you can spectate live matches and challenge or be challenged by others in the lobby. The interactions are all very organic and reminds me old school chat rooms... But you get the option of beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of each other (and win or lose - you're going to have a blast). It's a fun, challenging, yet "casual" game that rewards thoughtful strategy and experimentation.

There is currently a technical issue of some kind that can un-sync the players while in a match. The option to re-sync is at the top middle of the screen and seems to work ok as a temporary solution. Hoping it's a fixable issue! As far as bugs go, for something that released two weeks ago, this is hardly a complaint and more of a small inconvenience. Like a slight smudge on an otherwise perfectly polished surface.

Overall, even if you're not a fan of any of the various fighting, strategy, or turn-based genres this game probably has something you'll enjoy. Even if it's just spectating matches and refusing all challenge invites. You can do that and still have a blast. For $5? This absolute treasure of a game is practically free.

11/10.
