I love this game, but it makes me want to kill myself.

Ignore the time Steam says I have played. I have played about 14 hours of the game overall, most of it done offline while I was traveling.

Similar to: Hotline Miami, Rainbow Six 3, SWAT 4

Pros
-Simple controls that anyone can pick up.
-Can be played with one hand.
-Game mechanics may be simple, but allow for extremely complex strategies to be played out.
-Versetile level editor.
-Lots of content in the game, hundreds of standalone missions ranging in difficulty, as well as a handful of campaigns lasting 1 to 2 hours each.
-Randomized mission generator.
-Scenario Variety
-Perfect game to play on a laptop if you have a mouse.
-Officer and Squad progression. (new skills, weapons, and classes to unlock)
-Pause and play allows you to assess the situation on an action by action basis, giving the player time to think and plan.
-Good soundtrack.
-Playing with your own music/podcast in the background takes nothing away from the game.

Cons
-Enviroments can get repetitive. (The level design is varried, I'm talking about the way they look)
-Controls don't work well when trying to play in real time.
-Some of the bigger levels can get tedious, especially if you are stuck looking for the last enemy, hostage, bomb, etc.
-How fast your guys react to getting shot at is random at times.
-Steath is underdeveloped.

Conclusion

This is the most fun I have had in an RTS ever. This is coming from someone who doesn't really like RTS games. I decided to give this game a shot, mainly because I am a fan of squad based Tactical FPS's (Swat 4 and Arma 3 being my favorites) and this game shared the same concepts. Overall, the game is accessible, but still has the complexity to please seasoned RTS verterans.

Recommended to: Players who are looking for an accessible game that has a challenging tactical experience that does not rely on clunky UI or twitch shooting.

Buy 'Mount & Blade Warband' instead. The graphics of M&B may suffer but overall the game has better combat, gamemodes, and a better community than this game does.

UPDATE: The game no longer utilizes microtransactions. At the end of the day it is a mindlessly fun shooter with friends. The most fun you can have shooting cops online.

Previous: Well done. Let's celebrate this once excellent game's forth birthday by adding microtransactions and breaking the game balance completely by adding weapon skins (you have to pay for with real money) that buff weapons that were nerfed into oblivion anyway. Overkill, congradulations, you just ruined your game.

Do not buy this in its current state it is not worth it. If they decide to change the game back to when it was once great then maybe buy it on sale.

Insurgency is a fantastic multiplayer shooter and is a must-have game for anyone who is a fan of the milsim genre. The game itself has a very slow and methodical pace to it. Searching and aquiring targets is just as important as aiming and shooting. The game does not hold your hand when it comes to finding enemies and that is something I really enjoy. Dying has consequence during a match and can knock you out of the game for up to a minute, because of this, most players play the game very carefully and there is a sort of anxiety right before and during hard contact situations. To make matters better, everyone in the game is vulnerable. 2 or 3 shots to someone will kill anyone in the game, which, in turn makes players play the game even more carefully. If you like slow paced, realistic shooters, give this one a shot. It's especially more fun when you play it with friends.

The game is pretty different from the first one. The game is a lot more reliant on gun combat this time it seems. Some will enjoy it and some will miss the way the first one played. The game is a whole lot harder than the first one as well, the difficulty spikes to as hard as the end of Hotline Miami 1 within the first four chapters so I recommend this game with a grain of salt. Really look into it and see if you will like the gameplay/changes from the first game.

Out of every game to have come out this year, I did not expect Wolfenstien: The New Order to have such a heartfelt and interesting story. It's an old-school, arcadey and fun shooter, with some stealth elements here and there. I couldn't recommend it more. Also, it's a really fun challenge to play on hard.

This game is great, but unfortunately I'm having trouble figuring out how to sprint, knife, and throw grenades. Other than that I'm enjoying it very much.
