3,515 Hours played
(Hi! The majority of my hours are me sitting in the menu with another game open. I think I really have about 400-500~ real in-game hours.)

This helps, this helps alot. But there is a wrong way and a right way to play kovaaks. Playing the wrong way can really ♥♥♥♥ up your aim if you don't realize what you're doing for a long time.

This is what happened to me when I initially purchased this game and started getting into aim training. I initially started around 4 years ago, on and off, but i never really started grinding until last year. I now realize that the 4 years on and off blindly aim training set me back really bad.

I used to uncontrollably flick left in right whenever i'd get into any aim duel. While this is also a symptom of panicking in-game and not keeping calm, there are mouse movements I sometimes could not (and still can't, to a degree) stop myself from making. It had become instinct. This was because for those four years I thought grinding close fast strafes and scenarios much higher than my skillset would help me.

You will hear people saying "Kovaak's doesn't work" or "Kovaak's ruined my aim" - This is true if you don't know what you're doing.

It's much more obvious, known, and easier to get into these days, but if you're looking to start aimtraining, a nice google search to start with is: "voltaic kovaaks". Voltaic is an aimer community with lots of resources and information revolving aimtraining and kovaaks.

Remember to disable your high score bar sometimes
Always listen to music*
Prioritize undershooting
Hold your mouse like you would hold an egg
Track your target with your eyes like you would track the blade of a spinning ceiling fan

dont just try to flick to your target because you're losing score. this is a cope tactic, and one that will ruin your aim. do not worry about your score. worry about how you're training yourself. keep in mind the muscle memory you are teaching yourself. read the descriptions of scenarios if there is one. i had to came back to this review to update it because i found myself making the same mistake again, and i wanted to really get this point across.

*Someone commented about the music thing and it got me thinking (also music is just very important to me). For some people you may find it better not to have something distracting in the way, and I feel that when I listen to some especially disorienting songs. One thing I will say is that it can get you to train longer. Find an album from an artist you haven't listened to or find a playlist with some new music on soundcloud and listen to them while you play. It's a little stimulating to listen to new music while you play. Or maybe just choose music you know you like.

The reason why I am rambling about this is because of something I experienced while playing. I remember playing a pasu scenario, and i'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god awful at it. (you should always play the scenarios you suck at more than the ones you're good at!) While I was letting my spotify autoplay do it's thing, a song with a high-bpm trance-like beat came on. ♥♥♥♥ put me in the zone man, i'm telling you. Shot my 50th percentile highscore into 90th. Swear to god. Even afterwards my score went down. I've beat it since, but i struggle to hit scores like that still. I think music can be good to listen to when playing.

The song is rebirth by timesgone if you're curious.
