Let me just say that I really want to like this game. I so badly want to like this game.

But I cant.

Playing this game feels as good as it is to play Dark Souls with only one hand. Its incredibly hard. And for no good reason. You will die to just about anything that you can lay your eyes on. There are suppose to be levels of difficulty for enemies
(White < Green < Blue < Purple < Yellow) but those really don't matter. Besides white tier enemies, everything will kill you within seconds. The whole start of the game you will slowly figure out that in order to survive, you have to basically avoid every single mob you come across

While you avoid literally everything and explore around, you will eventually discover towns that, when you talk to the town folk, they may or may not give you small quests to do to gain either traveling gear (Hang glider, Boat, Reigns,) or special items, which you can use to unlock doors, walk through gates, etc. That's not all, but you might even have found out where an Artifact is. That sounds exciting!

So lets say that you put your hours in the game doing all of these quests to get gear and unlock those special items. Look at you! Decked out in Yellow tier gear and ready to take on the final dungeon in your region to unlock this crazy powerful artifact that you've been dreaming of. And lets say you beat the dungeon. Finally, you get this artifact that has to be crazy powerful, right? I mean, what would have been the point of grinding tirelessly for something if it WASN'T crazy overpowered. So what does an artifact give you?

+1 diving skill

"Huh?" you must be thinking, "There's no way I sank X amount of hours playing just get diving skill. What even is that?" Well, believe it. That's the reward you get for getting to the end. Artifacts only give you traversal stats, like being able to hold your breath for longer, or less stamina drain while you are using a hang glider, and other such "benefits". So what now? Now you can go ahead and begin to find more artifacts in other regions. Well, at least you still have your cool gear that you worked so hard for...Right?

Sorry pal.

Once you step foot into another region, all of your gear turns into the soggiest, most flaccid wet noodles of all time. And that's not all, you lose all of those special items you collected earlier too. So, you are completely back to the strength you had when you were a fresh spawn. Oh wait I'm sorry, I almost forgot that you still have your artifact! Yay! Artifacts are permanent upgrades to your character and "levels" your character up each time you gain a new one. But, the perks of an artifact are so completely useless that it is so easy to forget that they serve a purpose. So not only does this game have no incentive to explore new regions due to the fact that artifacts are as useful as a wet fart in a paper bag, but it actively punishes you for trying to explore the game by region locking all of your gear, Which is the main point of the game.

Long story short, I felt utterly weak playing the game and had zero fun running from every single enemy that was in my vicinity. I felt like I had no incentive to explore due to artifacts being severely underwhelming and by being sucker punched in the pearls if I dared to leave my starting region. And to top it all off, signs are already showing to the developer once again going into hiding due to all of the negativity. In all seriousness, I do feel for the guy. I can't imagine working on something for 6+ years just to have it ripped to shreds by his fans. But, instead of disappearing like my dad, it would be much more professional to hear feedback and criticisms and actually respond the the people who are confused and angry with this final product.
