If you want to do a test run, try out the Freeware version. You can download it off of Cavestory.org . It's essentially the same thing, but I'd say the music isn't as good, although it's still really great, the graphics aren't updated, and there aren't all those extra tasty additives in there. It's worth the money on steam. some say it's the inspiration for a lot of great indie games ;D. Ok, I'll stop rambling and take my leave now.
