I really don't see what there is to enjoy about this game, and do no recommend it. The plot makes no sense, and has Grand Canyon-sized holes in it. The dialogue is cringey, lame, non sequitur, and delivered with some of the worst voice acting ever. The setting is all variations of brown. Brown village ... brown castle ... brown military island. The AI is actually mentally disabled. Every enemy very. slowly. creeps. toward. you ... affording you infinite time to pop off a headshot, or to kneecap and suplex them. There is absolutely no challenge in the gameplay at all. In fact, all the weapons have laser sights to compensate for the really crappy over-the-shoulder perspective. What's event he point of that? Why do I care to study the back of my characters neck in a game whose main elements are shooting things? The game is riddled with quick-time-events, none of which give enough warning to submit the keystrokes ... half of them using the unintuitive "x" and "c" keys which makes no farking sense since you hand is resting on "wasd". And some of these game-over-inducing QTE's are in the middle of a cut scene, so I'm not even paying attention and my hand is off the keyboard scratching my scrotum when all of a sudden I get a game over screen and have to sit through the insipidly stupid scene again! There is a grand total of 3 pieces of music in the entire score: merchant/save room, ominous tones to try and make you feel spooOooOoky (rolls eyes), and boss battle music.

Anyways ... the main campaign took me about 18 hours to beat (I played it blind, and I horded loot and searched around a ton, in hopes of something interesting ... spoiler alert, nothing in the game is interesting.) I give it a 4/10 and a "Do not recommend". Good day to you.

Didn't even know I had this game. Thank the good Lord I got in in the Humble Bundle, so at least the money went to charity. I'd never heard of this game or known anything about it or its developer until now. This "game" is so sparce and weird and terrible. Vast empty maps with nothing in them, save for a couple of unvoiced NPC's and some enemys who will follow you throughout the vast HUGE empty map of identical hills so that you can left click to kill them for some reason.

Oh, and you're all rabbits, because we live in a universe where furries exist.

It's just confusing that something this dull, boring, and lifeless even exists. I'm so sorry if the devs are reading this, but don't be discouraged ... listen, when i found out I was bad at drawing I found a new hobby. Maybe it's time you found your new hobby, too.

While I do recommend this game, it certainly has its share of pros and cons. It's absolutely a blast to play, and it controls fantastically. The only people I've heard complain about controls are people who play with the joystick ... don't do that ... it's a 2D platformers, use the d-pad ... that's what it's there for!

The music is a lot of fun, and the visuals are engaging, ranging from cutesy-macabre to hauntingly beautiful. The levels are all deliberately made and offer appropriate challenge, and rewarding feelings for completing them. And there are a LOT of them.

I think were the game falls flat is first, and least importantly, the writing. The little blurbs the NPC's say are trite and cringingly "edgey" as if it's a collection of the worst quotes from a 15 year old on /r/atheism. But I can get over that, since we all know Edmund has a hard-on for hating on/mocking Christianity. But I think this goes hand-in-hand with my biggest complaint ... the game feels like it's got no heart. At least in games like Super Meat Boy or 1001 Spikes it felt like there was a heart, or a certain joyfullness to them. The End is Nigh is fun to play and I plan to chip away at it for as long as it takes to complete, but I don't look back on it with joy, and I don't anticipate playing it later the same way I do Super Meat Boy. Games like Super Meat Boy and 1001 Spikes would always be in the back of my mind at work or whatever, when I was in the middle of them, but not so much The End is Nigh. It just feels like a time-filler, kind of like a mobile game, in that I'll pick it up and play for an hour, then maybe forget about it for a few days and do it again.

Despite that it's a solid game, and definitely one for any platforming-junky. I truly do like it, I just think it's missing a little something to send it over the edge and into greatness. But don't take my word for it ... go and play it yourself!

What do you want me to say? It's Half-Life. Everyone should play it.

Not a very well made or fun game. Good for about 15 minutes (that's being generous) then it's horribly boring. Not even sure I could recommend it on sale for $0.49 :-/

Glad this one came in a bundle. Tried the tutorial and it was so broken. I'd have asked for my money back if I had bought it on its own. Hope they fix that for future players.

Don't buy this game, it's a waste of money cause they're taking it off of Steam. Why spend money on a game that's getting taken away and you don't get to play it anymore?

Cover-based shooters barely count as entertaining in 3D, and it falls flat on its face in this 2D delve into the genre. The action is overly simplistic. The "humor" is just really really bad. Maybe it's British humor (sorry for the oxymoron), but I didn't find anything about the game amusing. The chatter during gameplay was irritating as well. I don't think it counts as a bad game, but it's certainly not for me. There are countless other better 2D shooters that I don't feel compeled to play this one anymore.

Got this in a bundle. Probably one of the more boring and pointless "games" in my library now. What trash is this?

I've played a lot of boring stupid video games in my life. This one ranks somewhere in the middle. At least I got it for free.
