Buy Easy Red 2 instead. Dont bother playing this, as a longtime Gaijin sufferer because of War Thunder, this game is ACTUALLY worse in it's greed.

Dont expose yourself to this unless you like hurting yourself, if so, go ahead and play this.

Starfield has 16x the game of Star Citizen

So instead of looking at CIG's store for more game, I look at Nexusmods for more game because I know that you know that we know that Bethesda knows the modders make a better game

LIKE MAKING MY CHARACTER WALK THE SAME SPEED AS NPCS.... JFC Todd....

Tried, just couldnt get into it. There's some noticeable downgrades that made it a lesser gaming experience than it's predecessors.

Story
Animations
Gameplay / Parkour

Feels... stiff, like it's trying to be a bit more like Dark Souls but fails

Spoiler alert

If you're looking for newgame+, the game's got it. Unfortunately the upgrades that make the game feel / move better in the late game does not carry through. Expect the same backtracking as before and trying to bypass sections can break the game so be wary when utilizing mods

That said, it's unfortunate but it's a 7/10. It's got some pacing issues that really detract from the story as a whole

Look, the gameplay is solid, enjoy the game as such. Don't go into this expecting a great story so this is primarily a review on that.

Spoilers ahead, been warned for anyone else reading

This is going to be a long wall of text so I'm sorry... spent almost 2 hours doing the epilogue and my frustration with the story needed to be vented...

TL;DR Because I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hated the last half of the story, it completely destroyed my suspension of debelief and I couldnt ignore the flaws with the narrative by that point

--‐-------------

Old Villedor with the Bazaar and PK was pretty engaging that plays with whose really the bad guy sort of thing and depending on your choices, could either have the bazaar / pk base overrun with infected. Like it actually mattered because these locations are blocked from you accessing traders.

This was most likely Chris Avellone's major contribution at this point and it shows.....

Then when you get into the bigger playground, the story nosedives ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard. Was promising initially, why electricity came back and why the Renegades attacked the Canteen

But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the farther you get into the plot, the further these events barely make sense and how Waltz is played into them. This man had so many chances to straight up body Aiden, not even kill him, but just take the GRE access key and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bounce to X13 after the power came back. Yet he's barely reached it by the epilogue and somehow had renegades that deep with that many infected with volatiles all the while carrying Mia.

Not to mention... she needed a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ventilator and it required power... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ electricity... for YEARS. When the story has already been made clear the city was without electricty for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decade.

How. The.. ♥♥♥♥?! You'd think by the point of the story after the car plant and finding out who Aiden was, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Waltz would've tried contacting Aiden since the guy has Mia. Try to at least ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ talk to him.

Aite fine, Waltz is a dumbass that ordered a pointless attack on the Canteen, betrayed the Colonel and was hoping activating the missiles would annihilate Villedor and proceed, somehow, with curing Mia. Even though he said essentially Villedor destroyed his research years back in finding a cure.

Personally half hoped Mia was imaginary and served as a coping method for Aiden undergoing the experiments... you know, how Veronika couldnt find a patient named Mia, for some reason or another at the Observatory

Whatever... but then we get to Aiden and it's just.... wow.

X13 was the "hospital" all along and a trek away from Villedor. You mean to tell me, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guy didnt go to the most immediate city with it's lights and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge walls in the distance after this fire that happened.. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's not like it was far with a drive, Aiden travels to X13 via tunnel on foot.

X13 is literally armed with missiles and the story is telling me, that during this virus outbreak, didnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launch any missiles while it had electricity more than a decade ago. The story starts after DL 1 by some odd years so the virus is already in full swing.

Fine whatever, maybe personnel on site were actively denying the launch till electricity was out. Good on them... for some reason... but at that point in time, Villedor was nowhere near as built to accommodate humans living on top of rooftops, we know this because Lawan and Frank recount their time helping build the Canteen in the first place when Lawan was almost 10. So we already Villedor by this point is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overrun with the virus, to which, get confirmed that's the case since even GRE facilities started to get infected from Veronika's story.

Fine, that part can ♥♥♥♥ off but now we get to the Canteen being attacked...

We never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ found out why it was attacked in the first place. Waltz can singlehandedly blitz the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to the ground but leaving that aside.... everyone is going off on this Colonel being this big bad guy wanting war. They assume it was him starting it...

Ok.... so we get to the point of the Colonel's Stronghold aaaaand... they're not "Renegades". They're just more militant "Peacekeepers" and it shows with their models. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guy named Steve, a driver for thr Colonel, is a clear cut example of not even having a mask

We later learn that Waltz, from the Colonel himself, had betrayed him after trying to enhance his guys to be stronger, who they allll splintered off with Waltz...... we get the implication that Mia was there at the Dam being tested on as well.

So you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mean to tell me, that during these events, the Colonel never bothered to send an envoy to the PK + Survivors saying "yo, had a mad scientist here drugging up my guys and they formed their own faction as bandits"...

Until after the radio was up. Ok.......

Wait, back up... sending an envoy... Steve being a driver.. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, there was working cars this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ late??? And it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ van, unarmored.

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ had OIL and could've controlled Villedor as such. Okay, maybe it wasnt oil but an electric vehicle... then what the ♥♥♥♥, how is there electricity in the for this vehicle in the first place?

Because clearly, since Steve knows how to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drive, that meant Steve needed time to learn and operate a vehicle as well as having a functioning vehicle in the first place which given the timeframe Waltz turned the electricity back on, gimme on that classroom because ♥♥♥♥ me, that's quick.

Im tired and exhausted of this ♥♥♥♥ story that I forced myself through. The departure of Chris can be tangibly felt in the narrative and the game as a whole unfortunately drops in quality with only it's gameplay keeping it afloat.

It's a great linear story RPG, it's just a terrible open-world RPG

It's not worth it.

No reselect of server choice ((bad move if you misclick))

No way to reroll your account ((account you made on fresh install is the one you're stuck with, no removal methods work as of yet))

No keybind remap, you're stuck w terribad layout

UI is unchangeable, have fun w typical large mobile skill prompts

It's a last ditch effort from a company that stopped giving a damn and wants this to end while still milking in money.

Positive:
Gameplay loop is fairly solid

Fairly unique versions of characters

Surprisingly the best generic Zombie Survival Sandbox third person shooter around.
