After being a huge fan of KOTOR 1 for years, I've replayed KOTOR 2 again starting around October 2020, 5 years after my original playthrough.
Being older I got a hugely different experience than my 16 year old self back in 2015, I was introduced to the complex philosophy and characters themselves and it left me completely immersed.
KOTOR 2 shines the most when it's modded, to get rid of the unfinished and rushed production the game originally had. KOTOR 2 has amazing writing, way above the level you see in most games, even today like 15 years later.
It shines the most when you are just immersed in the experience, travelling in your ship talking to your companions for hours on end, and they are some of the best companions ever written because of one fact that really astounded me; in most games companions will only talk to you and talk about themselves, but this is one of those rare moments where the companions want to know YOUR opinion, they will ask you questions and formulate their opinion based on what you think of what they had to ask or how you have been towards them. It feels really complex and there's really a very very special game underneath all the unfinished parts. KOTOR 2 really probes your mind and opens you to certain philosophies in Star Wars that you otherwise would never think about, that's why I feel it is much more than just a Star Wars game.

End note; if you are looking for a more movie-ish heroic or Sith feeling Star Wars experience, then go for KOTOR 1. If you want something that will tackle the grey area which is really almost never explored in Star Wars, critical thought, Jedi and Sith philosophies and the ultimate faults of both of them, then go for KOTOR 2. Also worth mentioning are the better force powers and gameplay changes, as playing consular in KOTOR 1 was just a waste of time for me, I was playing a sentinel here but I will definitely try a consular playthrough at least once. I can't recommend this game enough, it came to me at what I will consider a special time in my life and I loved every living moment of it, one of the highlights of 2020 for me.

Hands down best star wars game ever made
Requires some tweaking because it's an old game but it still stands.
Great mod support too which supports its longevity
Mind bending story, great characters (especially companions), gameplay... it's all there.
10/10

One of the best point & click games I have played. Interesting puzzles, great story & amazing characters. A short review but there is really nothing bad to say about this game, the only reason someone wouldn't buy it is because of personal politics involving all income going to Tim... nonsense. Puzzles were sometimes exteremely hard for me, although that is my fault because I haven't been playing as many point & click games as I used to, that however will probably change in the near future.

The first season of this game was already amazing. Now its just getting better and better; the first episode is brilliant and the second one is continuing in its path. Telltale has made a masterpiece, yay. Buy it.

Update: Episode 3 is even better. This season just keeps getting better and better!
Update 2: Just finished Episode 4, another masterpiece. Just one to go.
Update 3 : So much feels, truly a great game.

Just buy it if you haven't, worth the money.
Get the expansions aswell, they're amazing.

As in the game itself, you spend countless hours with different civilzations that you can play as on different kinds of maps that you choose. There's a lot of types of victory; being science, culture, diplomatic, dominance, etc. There's different eras you progress through and with science you get new buildings, units, etc.
I have spent A LOT of hours into this game and I'm still not bored of it.

still good

Excellent sound design, although avoid it for a couple of months since its unfinished (still feels like beta, heists repeat a lot, nothing to do past level 40). Gunplay is amazing, but the game gets repetitve itself since all you do is get a bag and move it from point A to point B (almost) every time. Not to mention the retarded card system is the only way to get weapon upgrades, why not a black market or a trading network between players to sell gun parts etc.?

In conclusion, this game has better gameplay than Payday 1, but Payday 1 has better heists and is more harder and challenging.

I'm leaving this review unedited (Posted: 21 Aug, 2013 @ 2:01am), but I need to change the rating to not recommended because of the horrible DLCs being put out, costing more than the actual game and being abundant (30 dlcs). - 15 Jan, 2016 @ 9:45 PM

A very immersive WW2 experience. Introduces a lot of aspects and ultimately defeats the "average FPS". You can see a lot of effort in the game and Tripwire really did its best.
