Bastion is a strange game best known for it's narrator which is more like a commentator but is done so well that you never get annoyed by him repeating itself.

The art is amazing as the ground raises from the bottom of the screen so you can walk on which makes exploring and finding secrets very rewarding. The general appearance of the levels and characters is very well done and thought out. Though I diddnt like the isometric type of view I wasnt punished by falling off the edge with a loss of life, the isometric view gives you the gods eye view which obviously works well with the narrator.

The combat got repetitive but it was challenging you are able to block and use melee and ranged weapons. There are multiple weapons and you are able to customize your character even to suit the style you want such as using an arrow and a blunderbuss or 2 different melee weapons, or the 1 melee weapon and 1 ranged weapon. But you will always have a shield in Bastion which does resemble an old shoot em up at times.

Bastion has a lot of life with it's replayability, the god shrine is a great idea, letting the enemy get stronger and getting more experience is a great idea. I finished the game and was given the option to play through it again but with all the unlocks available so its a great game for the completionists out there.

Though I do believe it is overrated just a bit it obviously gets a lot of attention because of the narrator. If you like a challenge and good game design play!

Deadlight is a side scrolling puzzle and survival game with zombies in it. Yes a puzzle game with zombies in it, there are some jumping challenges and some well disguised puzzles but the zombies are a moving challenge as you must follow that tradition to go right the zombies will chase you no matter where you go so you have to use your own brain.

To me a side-scrolling zombie survival game is new, what got my attention was the look of it all. First off the main character is completely black, a silhouette while the background, zombies and other characters are in full color but there are still shadows everywhere so it fits. As you go through the game the camera doesnt just follow you, it locks in place. If your in a building you aren’t the center of attention, the building is. You can see every floor and every zombie whether they were playing dead on the ground near your feet or deep in the background.

The background is amazing, definitely not a simple still image, from looking at the background you can make sense of what you are doing, why you are going through the window in the foreground, why you aren’t running towards those zombies in the background who are heading towards you as they join the foreground, it is alive and shouldn’t be ignored.

I liked the puzzle element of playing with the zombies, they created a whole lot of tension to the game as you diddn’t always have a suitable amount of ammo to fight them all. Pistols and shotguns are there and I found myself having to use them at least 50% of the time which is a shame because I had much more fun trying to avoid the zombies than shooting them. Because it is a side scroller shooting a zombie was very easy. I never felt scared of the zombies or bandits. I could see through an entire building so there wasn’t much fear in the game, there was much more suspense than your average zombie game but thanks to some very generic action it never really delivered.

Overall I found it to be a great experience, too short for my taste but it has been so long since I have played a side scrolling game that I am proud to see what a mature themed side-scroller can do. If you like Zombie games and also like to use your brain then I highly suggest you try this out. If you expect great action and a good story then you’ll be disappointed.

Was fun for a while but the building ability and destructible terrain is totally useless with the Jetpack class in there.

Best 3rd person view tower defence game I have played, lots of freedom, lots of life trying to get a high score. Beaten by the sequel because that has co-op.

Very fun for a 3rd person view tower defence (DoTA) type game but definetly needed more maps. The Sequel Super Monday Night Combat is free and has much more variety, but no Australian servers..

Very community driven with a huge amount of tracks made by people. Yeh there are other players there but their cars are ghosts so it's a great game if you love competing against yourself trying to beat your last time.

+Deepest sport manager simulator made.
+3D match action helps show the action.
+Huge roster of real players and staff.
-Yearly franchise, more recent versions have an up to date roster.
-Very time consuming.
-Missing a proper career mode for yourself (the manager) the money you earn is useless.

Big ass time sink. Same as most FM games but the 3D match engine is great if you enjoy watching the sport.

Get this game. I wish I recommended it earlier, it's very fun and rewarding. It's physics is the most fun part, it is hard to fly so it is hard to master but the satisfaction of killing someone or scoring a goal in the "Ball" mode is amazing.
