Definitely a good Total War tile, lots of DLC options but its plenty of fun even in vanilla. Its also cool seeing the characters from Dynasty Warriors in a different setting and they are unique enough to stand out in the map and on the battlefield.

Good game, DLC sucks but even as a base game its great and Paradox does a great job updating it too.

TLDR:
In summary, This game is better thought of as a single player KOTOR game that you can play with your friends. When looking at through that lens, the game shines as a one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made, I do not say that lightly either.

Longer Review:
It says I've played 2.7 hours on this game but I've logged in the realm of 3,000+ hours since 2013 before it was put on steam. Throughout that time I have seen less than half of the game's world. While the game first had a rough launch (EA go figure), EA has seemingly kept their hands off this title because it has evolved into one of the most beloved Star Wars games among its players. It explores a massive part of Star Wars Old Republic history and old school Bioware storytelling is alive and well in this universe.

Even in vanilla, this game has some of the best star wars story telling I've witnessed in any star wars game and it is a true successor to the KOTOR franchise. The expansion packs are just as good too. However, I do have to say don't go in here expecting a normal MMO experience. This is really a single player game with MMO elements.

The maps were designed for much larger populations in mind so they feel a bit barren but that isn't exactly a bad thing. It feels like you're more immersed in the environment of each world. To be fair, Bioware could stand to triple the count of NPCs on Coruscant, Nar Shaadaa and Dromund Kaas in particular to give it a more immersive feel. When you do interact with other players, people are mostly friendly and helpful.

The game is technically free to play but there are perks to subscriptions. You still get about 85% of the game for free and, if you don't care about the multiplayer solo stuff, you can play nearly all of the solo modes for free. Personally, I subscribe for 3 months at a time usually during winter when I want to forget its cold and unpleasant outside.

Pros:
-Excellent storyline for all classes
-Absolutely massive
-Thousands of hours of replay ability
-Great characters
-A great way to get your star wars gaming fill
-its FREE and the free version is still really good
-You can play this entire game solo if you want

Cons:
-Graphics get weird at high settings (water doesn't appear when all graphics settings are maxed unless I'm in borderless window mode? Its a Radeon thing apparently)
-Some planets feel empty
-Some of the smaller and forgotten PVP modes are abandoned by players

Rating:
[6/10] graphics
[7/10] sound
[8/10] gameplay
[10/10] story
[7.5/10] community

This game is a ton of fun, much more comic book-y than XCOM 2 but at the same time the characters are more fleshed out. And some good cameos from XCOM 2 characters as well.

This is indisputably the best MMO I have ever played. The question is, is it the best Elder Scrolls? It certainly is a contender.

"the game is actually more playable than many AAA titles have been at launch and Camshaft is in the process of tackling a project that would leave larger devs spinning their tires.

I eagerly await the final product and each update has provided a vast improvement. In it’s current state, we will give Automation a Carbitrage Score of 8/10. It has some glaring flaws in it’s game play but as it stands the game is worth hundreds of hours of fun and you should absolutely play it. Now excuse us, we have to finagle this tiny V12 into the trunk of our subcompact." - This is from my actual written review I did on this game.

If you are a fan of The Grim Fandango or LA Noire then you'll love this game. I just wish that it's world was a bit more open because I want to explore everything it has to offer.
