First of all, I would like to make it clear that I do not dislike the premise of the game but like many games before it suffers from a massive flaw. This game clearly should not have gone past the early access stage of publication because it is not polished sufficiently to be considered a game that can be marketed at full price. After all, its core gameplay advertised is missing key features, it has nothing to do in terms of gameplay and it fails to execute far worst than its competition.

To start with, the game advertises its self as a survival open-world but throughout most of the time I spent playing the game there was barely any time where the character was in real danger. This would be excusable if the game was not devoid of any survival mechanics other than crafting. But with no hunger, no thirst or scarcity of resources in the slightest, it is hard to believe that this is supposed to be a survival game and not just a hunter reskin with a few select new "guns" and robots.

I will give the game praise where praise is due for its execution of the setting of the 80s when it comes to its esthetic but that praise can only go so far when the game is missing a properly executed gameplay cycle. Overall the game consists of looting for better equipment then using said equipment to kill robots all the while following a fallout 76 like the campaign but that is all there is not much else to the game and it gets boring within a few hours of playing.

Speaking about fallout 76, the world of generation zero feels as empty as that games world due to its lack of NPCs, narrated story and lack of meaningful impact of the player's actions on the world of the game. This leaves the game in a state that is somehow worst then what is probably considered one of the worst games in the genre somehow. Anyway, if the game adds more and deal with the hollowness of the game I am sure they could make something out of the game if they tried.
