We sure have come a long way since Wolf3D in terms of 3D graphics, gameplay, and more. I won't lie, since this is a DOS game, the controls tend to be clunky, and the mouse sensitivity is limited compared to modern FPS games, and even Doom in comparison. The levels are mostly blocks, with the occasional bad guys to kill, items to pick up, and even treasures to steal from those pesky Nazis. Compared to modern FPS games, it's not really worth going back to, especially with the newer Wolfenstein games out to this day. However, looking back at how impressive it was compared to most games during its release period, it's definitely impressive for the very early 1990's, and before Doom even existed. I say pick out a source port, and play the game meant for modern play controls. The choice is yours.

I'm not a big fan of Picross, let's be real here. While it's simple on the surface, it's kinda tough to master unless you know how to examine the numbers as closely as possible. For a Steam game, it's pretty bland. The music gets a little repetitive after a while, and the main theme is merely a 20-second loop. However, I do like some of the hidden secrets the developer left around, and they can be pretty funny if you understand the references to these secrets. If you're into Picross, and want a lil bit of humor in your Picross experience, go ahead and give this one a try. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.

Well, it's a bridge building game. Not much to say about this one. But the fact that this was released with a Portal skin is kinda baffling, if you ask me. While there are some interesting quirks about the game, such as being able to use portals to get through certain test chambers, most of the bridge designs need to be absolutely ridiculous to pass some of the levels, and even when you use portals, it's still in a two-dimensional plane, so I hope you know what you're doing.

As far as I know, this is one of those games where the main focus is the narrative and it's mostly a cake walk with little to no challenge. There is some credit where credit is due, however; not only is the story kind of cute as you basically take the perspective of a little kid going through some storybook to uncover the lore about the world he was brought into while throwing ink/water around to uncover the paths as he goes through the story of the world. I could be wrong about the plot; I haven't touched the game in a little bit.

The art style is actually pretty neat and it varies based on what chapter you're in, and there are some unique elements that you don't usually see in other games, but unfortunately there isn't much to say about this game, if you're into story-driven games with a little bit of uniqueness in them, I say give this one a try.

I am a huge sucker for the Source Engine as a whole, with its incredible potential(even though it's not as up-to-date as it is today, unfortunately), and versatile modding support. And seeing a lot of the beautiful environments and landscapes within this game really gets my Source mapping excitement going, as I saw a lot going on in this game. And the lore is pretty deep on its own with all the corruption documents you can find and all the photographable spots that tell you some interesting environmental storytelling, which is definitely what I'm all in for. Sadly, the gameplay is kind of mundane in my opinion, as there isn't that much to do besides admire the environments and the occasional fixing up stuff to advance to the next chapter. But simply put; if you're a sucker for beautiful environments and you're a fan of Source like I am, I highly recommend this game for the environmentals on their own. However, if you're looking for, well, a real game, then I think Half-Life 2 or the Portal games are a better pick, as they're running on the same framework.

Bleh. All I can say is that this game is pretty bland. It’s basically Flow, or any numberlink game you have played before, but without any strict rule that you have to fill the entire board. The goal is to get every dog called a “pupper” to their respective dog food bowl. There are some meat bits you can come across for a chance to get 3 stars or “hearts'' in each level. However, once you pick up the meat bits, you can’t go back, the pupper has to stay hovering over the meat bit in order to actually pick it up. I’ll be honest, I practically gave up on the last level, and had to look up a guide for it to complete it. Also since this is the Switch version we’re talking about, once you complete the final level regardless of how many hearts you got, the game straight up crashes before getting to the ending screen. I've already beaten all the levels on the Nintendo Switch before, and at the time of buying this game for my Switch, it... kinda made it on the "top rated" page for a short time somehow. Well then. At least it's only 5 bucks, so...

Strangely enough, even if the game crashes on the Switch after beating the final level, on PC it kinda works flawlessly.

FINALLY, after who-knows-how-long, I got this game working on my laptop again. Of course, I wasn't the only one having this issue after seeing the Steam community discussions on this game, so now I took the initiative and got every single achievement in this game, which I shoulda done five years ago, but now I did it.

Anyway, there's really nothing special about this game, what you see is what you get. However, I found the music and sound effects to be kinda grating (the cat literally sounds like a Mario shy guy for whatever reason), and not to mention some of the achievements can be glitched at first glance. But they're definitely possible to unlock. However, I personally suggest against it, as this game is only six hours long.

Early Access Review
After getting all achievements in this game and getting past the true ending, I just have to say... wow. This game is definitely an experience to withold. Now, this is some kind of niche that not everyone is into, yes, but that said niche is actually used as a decent gameplay element that's actually, dare I say... innovative. Yeah, I actually enjoy a furry inflation game. Because of course I do. Anyway, all those weird niches aside, this game is actually worth trying out. Cute and charming character design, innovative gameplay, and a very compelling story definitely makes this game worthwhile. And I will admit that there are some things that are actually pretty funny in this game, I won't spoil what they are so go ahead and give this game a try if you can.

I am updating this review for the 2023 Steam Awards. Go do your part and nominate the game. Please.
