Oblivion is my favorite Elder Scrolls game. It sits in a sweet spot between Skyrim and Morrowind. More modern in its mechanics than Morrowind, but retains more of the RPG elements that Skyrim lacks. The quests big and small are written well and the faction questlines are so much better than what Skyrim offered years later (especially the Dark Brotherhood). The jank that fans in 2006 came to love is also intact, and mechanics such as leveling have been given a proper rework. I hope that with the facelift the remaster has given the game, Oblivion can be enjoyed by Skyrim fans who were off-put by the now dated graphics of the original, or anyone else looking for a good RPG.
