I shouldn't need an EA account to play this locally with my wife.

For some reason I forgot before buying that we are supposed to pirate EA games in order to escape bloat.

2 MONTHS after leaving early access:
- Friendly AI is still broken and your orders are ignored 90% of the time (until you "reset" by ordering fall in and retrying which also won't always work)
- The performance is terrible and the FPS drops to 30-40 even for people with amazing hardware
- Some maps are really huge and labyrinth-like. That sounds like a good thing, right? Well, no, considering that you have to spend like 20 more minutes running around a cleared map trying to find that one last civilian that you ordered to be restrained 40 minutes ago and the SWAT AI confirmed the order and proceeded to just stand right next to that civilian instead of doing anything. 'Rescue all civilians' was a great objective in SWAT 4 where maps were relatively small and very focused. These behemoths shouldn't have such general objectives unless you're going for an S rank.
- The gamemodes that added cool diversity to the small pool of maps RoN has were removed for no reason
- AI-generated artwork, AI-generated subtitles, Ai, Ai, AI
- The replay feature is a hot mess. At first it couldn't be turned off and would fill your drive with gigabytes of files and now, after hotfix, it doesn't save the setting you choose. You have to enable the replays every time you play if you do want them. Not to mention that the system itself is just borked, has issues with metadata (you have to find your replay by time & date because every map's name is TransitionMap according to the replays)
- THERE IS NO MULTIPLAYER LOBBY BROWSER, only automatic "matchmaking" queue. I hope I don't have to explain how bad that is
- And if ONE MORE TIME I'm going to be ADADADAD strafe-killed by a low income housing resident I'm going to lose my mind

It has great potential but VOID seems to have no idea what they're doing. They started out great. Can I get a Steam beta branch that would allow me to go back to the early access builds? They were much better, I wish I had played the old version more.

Fix the damn game instead of spending resources on non-issues and endorsing censorship. In Sandstorm you can literally commit war crimes, gas people to death or get blown up by a bomber vest, but STOP RIGHT THERE YOU CRIMINAL SCUM, mean words are not allowed here!

This review would not be posted if, for example, there was a list of words that cannot be used. A bit of transparency would be appreciated and fixing the bugs in the game would probably be more beneficial than shadowbanning the community servers and releasing more skins.
