Beyond Citadel is a weird, messy, but also a truly interesting and fun game.

To be honest I cannot remember the reason I bought the game for but i do not regret it at all. It is fun but also a bit confusing on the start, due to all weapons having "realistic" reload systems and clicking "R" just doesnt do it.

The difference between Hard and Normal literally divide this game into 2 aspects, Hard being that you WILL die if you dont take any cover and fire back accurately as soon as you can, and Normal being a fun run and gun (if you got armour).

Throughout the games each level (except interlogue, boss, EX and secret) you can find one collectible art image and one skill attribute, and if you do seek for those (also a small gray square on the map) the game becomes so much easier.

The variety of enemies is insanely big, so even late game you will still be surprised by what the game has to throw at you. One of my points of surprise was that even if the enemy is down, they may still be alive and pull out a gun at you and keep shooting or even pull a grenade out to take you down with them, and the map doesnt give you an indicator that there is an enemy, so if you see a downed one that is still alive, be sure to finish it off.

Levels range from some small indoors ones, to a full scale city, some are fun and some are a bit boring or long going, but some also have a form of mobile transport (tank, mecha suit, military helicopter).

OST was decent, nothing special, some i liked and some were boring. But overall it was good.

The story of this game is a bit weird, but beautiful in its own way, truly one of those "love it or hate it" things (the community legit divides in that aspect too).

Another thing worth mentioning is, this game is a gory, sexualised mess. From what ive read it is due to the developers fetishes (but i am not sure myself although if you play the game it will make a lot of sense). So it may be unpleasant in the eyes of some. From what I have seen the game also has a hide gore and sexualised art in the games settings, so even if that bothers you, you still got a way to play the game without the nudity/gore.

Basically, The game is totally worth a shot. Definitely not something that would fit everyones palette of taste, but a weird and unique, yet fun experience worth checking out.

This game is one of those underrated, hidden jewels that rare find and try out. Countless of aspects of it that just make it truly unique and fun as ♥♥♥♥.

First off, the story. Its a solid 6.5/10, nothing special, but the ending was very nice and I enjoyed it.

The maps, its a linear progression map where you fend off 4 spots before a boss arena, and it repeats so in total of 3 times. The zones in between are really fun to navigate through and what tops it off is each one has around 6-8 secret spots or so that grant extra cash, ammo or armour, alongside collectibles!

Enemies are also varied by different class and faction, plus its randomised each time you play on where will you find which faction, but all in all, they arent that hard to fight against after a few runs and when you understand the basics, even on the hardest difficulty.

Weapons are in my opinion one of the peak points of this game, 9.5/10. I mean sure, they are nothing special, but the gunplay? Absolutely insane. Especially once you get to the point where you fully upgrade the gun with the side bonuses from collectibles and the game becomes a pure run n gun as you mow down enemies.

OST however, for me atleast, is the best thing about this game, pure 10/10. I never found a single track to be too repetitive to me or boring or that it plainly just sucked and i had to lower the volume. Each track was perfect, and one of the best things in this game is the fact you can change your "lobby" (house) music on the computer to one of the four dog duty tracks which absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slap by how chill they are, makes my ballsack hair shiver every time.

100% completion of the game is a 9/10 mostly for the reason you gotta remember some of the spots of gen2 capsules you use to boot up these ally bots, and for a certain achievement you need 5 capsules in a single run, out of the 12 spots you go through (iirc) only 6 have capsules. Other than that the rest was easy, BUT a suggestion for future players of this game, if you seek 100% completion, do not spend any money on upgrading guns, always "deposit" it because collecting everything in total should come around.. 450k$??? Might overshot it a bit but this was on top of my head, but by visiting most secret spots on each zone, money shouldnt be a problem. But I do also suggest on using the guide for the collectibles ONCE you beat the game, because finding the secret spots on your own is such a rewarding process, and its either some logical thinking or some ridicolously hidden bs, but its fun.

Basically, try this game. There is just something mesmerising about it.
