Aside a few server issues, the game's pretty stellar. :3

It's technically a great game.

It's a looter-shooter with RPG elements, a somewhat interesting story, and... planets n' places to pilfer.

Yet, it doesn't feel /alive/. Everything is ridden with asteroids and planets feel very samey after a while, even though they look handcrafted.

The story also really likes to take its time and drag you along, and often you'll find yourself doing nothing-of-import side-missions and wishing for more customization with your ship.

Not really recommended, there are better alternatives, like the X series of games, an older Freelancer, or something akin.

The game is wonderful when it works. It's one of the more exciting games to play that I have in my roster, and with friends it's amazing.

Problem is, the server is always at capacity, a large number of players are having trouble with consistent crashes and disconnects, and there's a bit of an ignorant view towards the anti-cheat (which is quite harmless as of today, not considering what it used to be).

Despite the brief enjoyment (barely two hours played with 6+ hours spent in a loading screen or trying to fix crashes), I cannot recommend this game to anyone with similar hardware (AMD or Nvidia lower than a 4000 series) because of the instability I and others have experienced.

It's a great game on its own, but not as a GAAS product that doesn't run properly.

---Edit---

Fixes are coming, so I've updated this to a recommended, but I really wish they had a neutral review option.

Slapped it back to a not recommended based on the amount of people that can't play the game and consistently crash.

Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Not even a little bit.

Looks great, sure, even on the lowest settings.

Yet, it's incredibly unstable and a difficult to play. Even have a rented server and the myriad of problems still persist. Very frustrating and not worth the price at the moment.

Not for me. I'm a big fan of Doom in general, but like Doom 2016, this didn't really grab me like it should have. It's very pretty (especially on Ultra Nightmare), but graphics alone don't make a great game.
