10/10 best soulslike would reccomend.

Of course, you might want a little more depth than that, so here I go. The devs for this took the combat from their prior hack-and-slash titles like Dishwasher: Vampire Smile and Charlie Murder, created an eldritch and bleak world, and tossed in some soulslike vibes to created a metroidvania unlike any other. I thoroughly enjoyed my countless playthroughs of this game and would heartily reccomend it to anyone who loves castlevania games or soulslike games. And I would especially reccomend it to a certain friend of mine who's very hesitant to play soulslikes.

Get it, nao, easily worth full price and definitely worth it on a sale. Also has a sequel that is soon to arrive.

I don't remember why or when I bought this game, but it's in my library for a reason, lol.
Think I got it on sale years ago and I thought the gameplay was okay for such a cheap game, there certainly are worse ways to waste one's time.

A warning, though, this is one of those games with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of achievements for some reason. I don't even think the game had 50 when I first got it and now... lol. If you're into that kind of stuff, well, another reason to get it I suppose, but if you're like me and not a fan of that, then don't.

TL;DR mediocre but interesting dinosaur hunting game that's now one of those 1000+ achievement games, when tf did this get in my library?

Saw it was an odd game, decided to stream it with some friends for a laugh.

Originally beat the game in nine in-game days and about 20 mins. Decided to ♥♥♥♥ around after that point and see what happens... and see what happens we did, the game has quite a few scares an odd behaviors when you start breaking it and doing things at strange times. Quite some spooks and some laughs... and some glitches like the magic phantom knife... game loves calling you out on your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around.

10/10 best 77 minutes of my life would recommend.

(This review is mostly spoiler-free, though I could go into GREAT detail as to WHY I loathe the story, such would spoil it, and I won't do such for those who may play it nonetheless)

Would not recommend, personally, for the base game at least.

The gameplay is better and the music is much better than prior entries in the series, too. But the story... oh god the story.

To put it simply, the campaign is so terrible and slow that it makes the base game quite un-fun to play through, and it's much harder to rush through it due to so many instances where you have to follow NPCs around or constantly go and talk to specific NPCs to progress rather than the scene just continuing like it would have in BL2.

There is also the issue of M10 being a clusterf*ck that destroys the build diversity that this game did so right just before the M10 update. Simply put, Mayhem 10 adds such high HP multipliers that it makes any build not based around gun damage and not using an EXTREMELY limited pool of weapons with an EXTREMELY specific annoints (bonus effects that are randomly chosen) completely unviable unless you like taking MINUTES to kill basic enemies.

Gearbox also has decided to take a political stance and "show solidarity" with a group of domestic terroists, and use such as an excuse to delay an update that they'll probably still release in a horribly buggy and unbalanced state, just like Mayhem 10 was. Combined with the rather ever-present political and modern social themes in this game in particular... another reason I don't like such as much.

HOWEVER, I must give gearbox credit for doing what I consider to be one of the best depiction of a homosexual couple in a video game, which, surprises me really, with how ham-fisted most of the political and ideological stances in this game are, I'm quite surprised Hammerlock & Wainwright are done so well. They're just, treated like any other romantic couple, and that's the best way to depict such I feel, so, I will give them credit for that.

The DLCs might end up being this game's saving grace, however, and when they're all said and done, or when I feel like it, I'll go review each in turn, as these two major DLCs are LEAGUES better written and have much better mission structure than the base game.

Of course this is just scratching the surface of things, really, but I think this explains my grievances with the game well enough, though, perhaps they'll improve, perhaps not, for now I'm shelving the game into the "only do it for multiplayer with friends so you can riff on the story together and keep sane that way" category.

TL;DR : good gameplay/gunplay and good music, but such is NOT good enough as to salvage the awful mess that is the story and the HORRID mess that is the endgame. And credit where credit is due for doing one of the best depictions of a homosexual relationship I've seen from most modern media, though that does little to salvage the game.

Though I've had my fun with the game, I can't really recommend it personally.

It's only really fun when ya have friends to play it with. The Gameplay is meh, the Humor ranges from meh to bad. And the story just falls to bits after a certain someone bites the dust at about the halfway point.

Only real redeeming factor is Handsome Jack I'd say, it's hard to write someone who's a real ♥♥♥♥ yet you can still feel sympathy for. And not a basic jerk, like, well, you probably know with how famous he is, a real class-act if you will, yet you can still feel for him and why he does the things he does, at least after you start to learn his backstory.

But, I don't like the studio, nor the people in charge of the project (devs are fine though). Randy B*tchford a right jerk and fool, and stole funds from Aliens: Colonial Marines to improve the budget for this game, along with being a very thoroughly unlikeable person, amongst other things.

Never worth it at full price. Maybe worth it on a 75% sale just for Jack and the scraps of good humor here and there (such as shooty McShootyface).

But if you have friends to play it with, do give it a shot, just make sure they ain't running ahead, railroading you around constantly, and speedrunning everything. (I'M LOOKIN AT YOU FEM! RIGHT AT YOU! You constantly do that even when you say you ain't, if I have to hear your char jump ONE more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time as you jump-sprint your way around I'm gonna shove that stupid gun in your hands right up your arse ). BUT when you're not at each other's throats over differences in preferred pacing, multiplayer shenanigans can lead to fun, then again multiplayer can make even the most dreary of games fun so that alone is not a reason to recommend it for me.

BUT, the DLC and expansions and the like vastly improve the game and add a great amount of replay value and content, so if you are going to get this game regardless, GET IT IN A BUNDLE WITH THE EXPANSIONS AND STUFF.

And that's about it.

Oh, and a thousand curses upon Tiny Tina and the peasant who wrote her character, she's an insufferable and annoying caricature of a hyperactive, poorly-raised child. never felt any positive emotions toward her in the main game.

And almost forgot, Lilith's a right b*tch who deserved to die by the end of the story and you can't convince me otherwise.

This game is a decent experience, more like a short little movie than a game, but fun nonetheless. Great visuals, an interesting premise, but it falls flat as it approaches the ending, and the twist in the plot is that the story concludes in the most mundane way.

This rather anticlimactic ending, a complete lack of replay value (due to its movie-like nature), combined with the rather foolish actions of the developers as of late (filing a DMCA against pewdiepie for a stream he did a while back, despite giving EXPLICIT PERMISSION TO CONDUCT STREAMS OF THEIR GAME on their website), is why I cannot recommend the game.

I recommend you just watch someone else play it, rather than playing it yourself, you can get just as much enjoyment from merely watching it as you could playing it, really.

Oh my, you simply won't believe this...
Okay, so I installed this game to get the black rose in tf2... as I was installing it, I read in the reviews listed on the game's profile page informing me about the keylogger...

So, I have norton antivirus on my computer, realizing that this keylogger could be a problem, I run an antivirus scan...
The following malicious sotwares were installed with the game WITHOUT my consent:
- 3 copies of "PUA.Maltrec.TS!g4" (most likely the keylogger, as it was the only medium risk item unwillingly installed)
- 8 copies of "WebCake" (an adware program, had to deal with it before... completely ruins youtube with ad popups)
- 2 copies of "Adware.Singalng" (adware, installs a Browser Helper Object in Internet Explorer, an extension in Chrome, and an add-on in Firefox, displaying advertisements in the respective browsers.)
- 7 copies of "Yontoo" (adware, displays advertisements that APPEAR to be from facebook, but are most likely malicious)
and finally
- 5 copies of "Adware.GoonSquad" (adware, it may (and most likely will) modify browser search settings)

NOTE: these files WERE NOT PRESENT BEFORE THE GAME WAS INSTALLED

That list isn't what scares me, what scares me is that they are repeatedly appearing, which my indicate an endless cycle of installation. Hinting at a master file that is installing these other malware programs... this is most likely untrue, but I am genuinely scared of it being true, as I have had a similar problem with something called "chividi.plg.dll".

Install this game if you are willing to take the risk, or are willing to take the time to uninstall these files, otherwise, don't install the game, save yourself the slowdown that will occur as a result.

On another note, great game! Great controls, great community... well, except for the occasional pay 2 win scum (I can't even call them that, since the game censors "♥♥♥", even if it is within another word). Otherwise, a very fun game, 7/10
