Nah I guess it's not perfect, babies first traditional character RPG, yadda yadda, idk. Game hit some themes very close to what I've been going through the past few years as I've played, and it's hit harder than I could've expected it to. Pretty solid game, some QoL features would be lovely, but otherwise no complaints on my purchase of it.

At first I really just, did not care for this game. Time went by, I tried it again, and I just didn't care for it again. Fast forward to the year 2020, I get fired. Covid hits, I'm stuck at home, applying for jobs, while I'm doing better I'm just ridiculously stressed out.

So I come back to this game and it clicks. I don't know what got it to click, why it took nearly four years to click from me getting the game to understand, but it just... It just clicked for me. Next thing I knew I went from like, 5 hours to 65~ hours or so in the matter of a week or two, and I was totally enveloped.

IDK. I recommend checking this game out for sure, but with the caveat that this might just not be for everyone. I've completely enjoyed my time with it so far, but I also know (And have experienced it) that this kind of slower, free form gameplay isn't for everyone.

This game sucks. Get it.

It's alright.

I'll be quite honest, it's probably the worst Quake game? But it's, alright. Weapons are okay, the shotgun is like a stronger Doom 3 shotgun which is, a thing. Probably would've been better received if it wasn't a Quake in name game, though it probably wouldn't be remembered at all at that point.

Sounds are pretty good tbh, guns don't sound super weak but they're not the beefy god send of like, Quake 2's weapons. Gunplay is okay for a game of the era.

It's alright.

Update: I've since gotten some skimpy bikini outfit for those wonderful Beachisodes. I also got a cat helmet for my robot girl. Biggest complaint so far is that you can't have robot body and bikini.

Truth be told you get what you pay for, and considering this is a free game, think about that. It is simple and character codes should be coming in the future on their site, or you can buy Chex Mix bags and play as them. It's an advertisement, through and through.

That being said onto the actual gameplay. It's relatively intact, and has a feel of a slower Doom Clone from the 90's with a fully 3D Environment. The weapon assortment is the same, you have your Spoon, Spork, Zorcher, Super Zorcher, Machine Zorcher, the Zorcher Launcher, Plazmorcher, and the BFZ, the Big Final Zorcher. If you've played Doom you'll find that they are the same style of weapons, through and through.

Levels are remade and have a new layer of depth and movement included, probably with some new secrets and tricks. You have five levels, so if you're looking for a long game to dive into this just isn't for you I'm afraid.

I did enjoy what I played, heavily curious about speedrunning with the game, and the potential for modding if any. There aren't rebindable controls we know of yet, and the graphics options are relatively low, but it's still a very short and fun game for free, so nab it and give it a shot.

Spork and Zorch, until it is done.

STILL PLAYING, HAVEN'T FINISHED YET

So far, thirty minutes in, it's extremely fun and cute. The main character, Kiki, is adorable and an endearing and tough to crack adventurer who delves into an abandoned research planet to save her friend, Gary (I think.)

If you like cats, retro platformers, metroid games, or cheap games, give it a shot. Who knows, you might get swooned. Swooned? Nah, who knows, you might just buy a cat next.
