Amazing successor to Crusader Kings 2, without the massive DLC catalogue (yet). Unlike CK2, CK3 has a base game that is still playable without most of the DLC content.

To preface, I am a player who always plays solo/duo, mainly for the PvE, and just started breaking into the PvP. The case for Albion Online is as follows:

The game is great if you are one out of several groups: grindy players, aids pvp goons, stock broker with no actual money but plenty of silver, or gambling addicts.

Even if you don't fall into those categories, Albion has something for you to enjoy. You can farm resources and stimulate the economy, just like at your 9 to 5, or choose the path of most resistance and grind enough to fuel your bloodlust for other peoples work. In general the PvE bosses are locked to groups of 10~, with solo dungeons taking up a lot of the average players time outside of that.

These solo dungeons follow repeating layouts and mobs, with very minor variations between them. The reason these dungeons are fun is because of the pure dopamine you receive upon seeing a white chest with a piss cloud orbiting outside of it.

There is also corrupted dungeons, the same as solo dungeons, but with a massive twist: invasions. These dungeons are objectively the most well thought out areas in the game to my knowledge, with enviornmental hazards. traps, mobs that aren't copy-pastes, These dungeons also have their own loot scaling variable, infamy. The more infamy you have, the better the loot you get is. In short, lots of corrupted dungeons means more profit.

If you like farming, you can employ slave labor, or in the steps of the settlers, do everything by hand. The second method basically forces you to either hoard learning points like a jew with his pennies or buy premium to get more. Either way works, although the former requires planning, something that the average Albion player will learn after walking into his 15th gank.

In short, Albion is a good game for those who are insecure about their skills or like making virtual money. Outside of that, its a grind, but I can't stop playing it, those purple titanium taunt me if I try.

Took half of Ireland and got stopped by my ambitous vassel who was locked in an English prison where he could do nothing. He owns half of my land so my levies are ass, cannot expand further, plus he is plotting to kill my son.
Scared to open game as I might lose my hard earned land.
10/10

I used to very much enjoy this game. Nothing was better than playing some survivial, or maybe even a kitPvP every once in a while. But, I feel the game is dying in it's current state. Since Nelson started working on 4.0, the weekly updates turned into bi-weekly, to even monthly ones.

My advice:
Wait for 4.0
